Boards: A dying breed?
I've noticed in my travels... that alot (most) of the boards, big and small alike, seem to be waning in today's industry... obviously GFY is hangin' tough.... but even GFY slows on the weekends.... the rest seem to die altogether on the weekends...
are we working harder, playing harder? I know I am.

and its a shame you arent getting in on the pay per post rate I and the famliy get amp...
The family is a labor union of sorts. We all get on avarage about 14 cents a post. Naturally I get waaaaaaaaaaay more than that! But hey it pays for the Vette in the Garage.

Amp, if you let me and the famliy represent you I could probably get you 20-25 cents a post.

You're seeing fewer posts and less action on boards because of segmentation. At one point there was really only 1 adult webmaster board... Ynot...
It continued to segment... and segment further.. at this point there are hundreds of adult webmaster boards.. A new one pops up almost every day. I think they will be around for along time. I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon. They've been here since damn near the beginning. |

but we digress..... this wasn't intended to be a personal or even a nasty thread in general..... as far as I'm concerned, you and me are more than cool bone..... wish I wouldn't have lost your icq # in my last format.... someday, you and I will share many drinks my friend.....  but I was generally curious about some input as to the rapid decline in overall board activity..... some I visit die on Friday night and don't pick up again til Monday morning.. if then..... it's depressing..... I dig the boards... they offer me a shitload of entertainment.... but I do see a decline

also amp, these late weekend nights may seem slower to you, becasue before you were on PST time. Now you are on Hawaii 5-0 time.
This could have something to do with it also. I dont recall it ever really being rocking after 4:00 am on a weekend night?? Its pretty late here bro. Or are you refering to weekends in general seem a bit slow? Casue I talked to lensman the other day , and the GFY numbers are at an all time high. Its still growing and every month is still stronger and stronger. Maybe it has to do with the time zone thing?

yeah GFY is 24-7 for me too.
But I admit, like you my post per day ratio is down. Im here daily, just not 8 hours a day like before. More like 6. And witout you on my tail anymore trying to catch me, it seems ive slowed down a lot since then.

my avarage is way down. It was about 26 as i recall? But damn, summer is almost over and Ill be home a lot more. So im sure i can bring it back to over 20 starting in October!

So, there are boards to "kick it" and boards to do "business" on according to this thread. Ok, so those who enjoy the buisness side of things more than simply "kicking it" will naturally go to other boards and "kick it" with others who are like-minded in business.
fun is fun and business is needed - when folks are too 'rich' and successful to remeber that, then you see multiple 10,000 post posters complaining that there's too much "business" going on. flame on post professionals - i've got business to attend to ...
