He is an amazing fighter. I don't think he is number one in the world any longer. That is just my humble opinion. I really hope they are able to get a fight with him and Randy Couture someday before Randy gets too old. lol

i think you meant BJ Penn. Fedor is great and all but that would be like calling Tyson the best boxer right now. He hasnt fought anyone in YEARS. At the right weight class Bj is the man.

Um....he said fighter, mr smartie pants. Bj is the best pound for pound when hes in shape and fighting at the correct wieght. (not getting fat to fight heavy fighters like hughes, then gassing because of it)

Fedor is great fighting middle weights and washed up steroid freaks. Randy would work him IMO.

Please read my post before trying to point out shit.

From what I've seen, Anderson Silva is the best pound-for-pound right now. He hasn't just won his last 4-5 fights, he's dominated. If there's any champion right now that could hold the title for awhile (1-2 years) it's him.

(With due respect to Mr.Jackson, the light-heavyweight division is ridiculously loaded with talent)

BJ Penn gases out too fast, he can't pull 5 round fights anymore. Shit, he can't even make it 3. Fedor is the shit, but I'd like to see him come over to UFC and see if he goes out like a chump, along the lines of Cro Cop or Shogun.

Fedor is an amazing fighter, but no one is undefeatable. I am still 100% positive that he'd slap the shit ouf Randy Couture though. Seriously guys. Tim Silvia and Gabriel Gonzaga and all of the sudden Randy is an uber god? I don't think so. Randy's getting p there in age, and I doubt we'll ever see him fight Fedor. I think he IS an amazing coach though, and there's no doubt there's gonna be some champs coming out of his camp.

Ha ha..have you seen him lately? You must not have seen him face Pulver. He was in the best shape of his life and still is. Yes he gassed against hughes AT Hughes weight class, not his. He had to gain so much wieght to fight in that division that it lead to him gassing. Notice how he handled a MUCH bigger hughes until the extra fat caught up to him. He will NOT lose to anyone in his weight PERIOD.

I completely agree with you on this. Anderson Silva is just a well tuned, precision fighter. Everything he does is pretty much flawless, and for some time now he's been virtually untouchable. I'm still behind Hendo though when the time comes. If anyone has a chance to knock the piss out of Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson is the man.

How long did the pulver fight last? 2 rounds, he was still in his zone. He gassed against St Pierre too. True those were out of his weight class, but regardless, if the fight is 3 rounds, you should be able to go 3 rounds.

He's a great fighter though, don't get me wrong, he just needs to get his endurance back.

p4p? common.. Anderson Silva has the frame of a 205 pounder... he is like 6"2 whatever his bio says.. he simply doesnt train to gain muscle mass and has zero fat... Just like 5"10 De la Hoya was doing when he was fighting at 135.. Furthermore, the mw division is rather weak... which mega fight has he won..? Franklin? Which mega fight has Franklin won?

Doesnt matter how long the Pulver fight lasted. He was fighting at his correct weight for the first time in a long time. He gave two MUCH bigger fighters who will go down as two of the best all time at their wieght a great fight despite being WAY out of shape and overwieght. He was beating Hughes and would have won had he not gassed. Lets see hughes gain a bunch of weight to fight Randy Couture and see what happens.

When in shape, like he is right now, BJ Penn is the best and most skilled fighter in the world.

and for you FEDOR nut riders. Keep in mind that I think hes a great fighter, but he has ALMOST lost to many average fighters and hasnt had a fight with a quality heavy weight since I was using Dial Up Interenet Service.

BTW Penn also beat a much bigger Hughes as well in their first fight. Fedor fights down and Penn fights up.

How can you call Fedor the best fighter in the world (right now) when in his last against the Middleweight Matt Lindland he had to grab the rope in order to not get taken down. I think he probably would have still won the fight, but it would not have been in such convincing fashion.

Not to mention the fact that he has been fighting less than impressive opponents in the past two or three years. Sure he has beat some of the best fighters in the world in the past but that is in the past. His managers want to be able to have final say in who he fights because they don't want him to loose. He signed to a promotion that basically bowed down to his managers wishes and will have his Red Devil partners fighting on the same cards as him.

I think 2008 will be an important year for Fedor. We will all get to see what M1 is going to do and who they will match their premier fighter with. I get the distinct feeling that they are more interested in inflating his record and building him up to be some kind of super hero than actually testing him against real competition.

My call for the best p4p figher out there right now is Anderson Silva. I would put GSP right up there too and certainly he would be the recognized best fighter had he not been caught by Serra.

                                        That's just my two cents.

alexander is a good fighter, but nowhere near the caliber of his brother. if i wanted to sit down and really think it through, i'm sure i could come up with enough better heavyweights to bump him right out of the top 10.
