While not a heat wave by any means, I should see highs in the 40's down in my area.
You are too far north. The world stops at Indy. Everything past that is the North Pole.
Yes . . . while it is supposed to get to 72 at my CA home, the high today in the frozen tundra is expected to reach a balmy 27. Of course, it will feel like 18, but why quibble over 9 degrees, right?

I quibble over every degree. I begin my annual whine about the cold mid-October, and stop in early May.
I hate the cold.
And I am so cold natured that it is not even funny.

My girlfriend would love that! She loves seasons. We don't really get it here, we tend to get Wet, Wetter and Wettest in Scotland. She loves the snow tho! She also loves the sun more I think. Me, give me nice weather every day of the year!
Well, anyone that is a big fan of snow, I will get a cooler out and ship some to you. Need something to do with the stuff I have to go shovel off the driveway anyhow.

Well, if I can get to the airport, I leave tomorrow evening. I just talked to my daughter and she informed me that it is supposed to start raining there tomorrow night, just in time for my arrival . . . and will continue through the weekend.
I've loved my first year of seasons, being a native south floridian. Spring was awesome, seeing the trees pop, variety of birds that show up different times of the year... Summer was warm (hot to northerners, mild to me) and perfect most days - the kind of perfect "warm in the sun cool in the shade" we'd get may be 4-5 days a year of in SoFla... Fall was GORGEOUS- the change of leaves was a progression of color, the feel in the air, the colors of the season come out, then Thanksgiving was actually very mild - low 70's, 50's at night, super nice - don't need an ac or heat on half the year in the spring and fall - just open the windows! Now it's our first winter hit, 36 out today and supposed to snow, I'm excited for it! Sure by Feb I'll be tired of being cold, but by April it all pops back again and another season of gardening - watching the flower bloom again, the winter birds leave and the spring birds come back..it's a refreshing cycle. I've been loving it. The only seasons I've known before were hurricane season and football season. Endless summers are overrated as well.

Florida's weather sucks with its humidity, so probably not a fair comparison.
