    Has anyone here used Chantix?

If you have I have a question.

Did you have any withdrawal issues or strong cravings when you stopped taking it?

I haven't smoked in 8 weeks or so, but the chantix makes me drowsy and lethargic all the time and I'm starting to feel flat out depressed because all I ever want to do is lie around and sleep.

I want to stop taking it to get rid of the side effects, but if it means I'll start smoking again then I'll have to stick with it longer.

If you have any good information on this please share it with me.

I took chantix, smoked less but the side effects were so bad, I had to stop after a month, I developed a slight stutter and was so lethargic I would just lay on the couch drooling..

Once I quit taking it I slowly found myself getting back up to my regular 15 smokes a day over the next 3 weeks.

Also make sure you absolutely never even have 1 drink of alcohol while you are on it, you can have violent outburst and psychotic episodes after 1 drink!

G'ddamn, that stuff sounds worse than the stuff it's trying to keep you from doing.

Nah, and alot of people use that excuse to stop taking it and keep on smoking. They're looking for any reason to keep on puffing.

The side effects are unpleasant, but alot better than dying 10-20 years earlier than I should....a slow and painful death at that.

I'm just worried that if I don't take it for the full amount of time I'm supposed to that I might backslide into smoking again...and I don't want that.

I stopped taking it and went back to the smoking. They say after 3 months you have very good chance of quitting for good. I'm thinking about maybe taking half pill instead of the entire pill. my doctor said to try that see how that works. after 8 weeks you should be ok as far as the nicotine being out of your system.
