HOSTS! Need 10Mbits (avg bw metering)

I'm looking to move QUICK.. I need 10Mbits to start with (will grow fast). Here's what I need:

* Server: Dual 1Ghz 2Gb Ram 36GB SCSI
* MUST have control panel - Not the free Webmin!
* Urchin is a plus but not a must
* 24/7 support (ICQ/PHONE/PAGER) if stuff craps out
* 10 IPs
* PER AVERAGE BANDWIDTH BILLING (no 95th percentile)

Just need HTTP, FTP and EMAIL. No fancy databases etc..

I'm looking for QUALITY bandwidth (no cogent) with an uptime guarantee.

Who can offer this and get me up ASAP (48 hours)?

If you're going to charge me more than $100/mbit don't worry about answering because I already have a host in mind that offers all this and more.

If you have a host that you like for $1k or just above it you should stay with them, that's a good price. If you're shopping that much bandwidth and that kind of server for under $1,000 I'd love to hear about your experience after a few months.

Thanks .. i'm talking to a bunch now.

To playa and the dude.. $100/Mbit for good bandwidth is doable + price of server, you just need to know where to look. The days for $500/Mbit are over bud ;)

Brad,
I followed all your posts on cogent, server pricing etc.. on GFY. very informative. However I am talking about $100/Mbit + server.. so I think that's a decent deal and any hosting provider that pushes 2-3Gbps should be able to provide this without sweathing. It's the little guys who buy 100Mbit pipe from Verio that might have trouble.

Just be careful, remember the economics:

-The 10mbit that you're speaking of is costing $400-$600/mo
-That server at 2k would be $166/mo for 12 months
-Space and power in a colo would be $10-$30 per U

Of course the days of $500/mbit are over... way over. However, I'd be wary of any host that goes much farther below the $1000/mo rate. It is easily done, of course, but what is the infrastructure like of a host that doesn't have a healthy margin? Just food for thought, that's all.

Without a doubt Like Whoa and ISPrime are good hosting companies, if I had to choose from a list they'd be on the top.

Just for shits and giggles.. I find it fascinating that on the Dynamic Hosting website you've got that priced at over $2000. Gosh, what would your current customers say about doing it for less than a grand.

Oh, and Cotsios I see you posting alot here on GFY. You should probably fix your website so the dedicated page isn't a Coming Soon graphic. http://www.cyprusmedia.net/dedicated.htm

Cheers,

Brad

Just so ya know, I'm only paying about $20 more per megabit than Like Whoa and they're buying 3gigabit and I'm buying 200mbit.

If I'm not mistaken they're at $35-$40 per megabit while I'm at $54. See, I could play ball if I wanted too but I just won't whore out my hosting.

Cheers,

Brad

cotsios -

I'm just trying to help you out here. There's enough business for everyone. Trust me when I say that if you're going to solicit business your website better back you up, it's the first thing that people look at. Just take a day or two to finish what you started and I'm sure you will then have better luck.

brad is right. your website's images says a LOT about your company. For instance after you told me to contact you I went to your website. What I noticed was that it was amateurly designed and the dedicated page was coming soon. That just makes me hit the X. Invest in a good design and put as MUCH info as possible (even FAQ) on your site about your biz, prices, what you offer, blah.

BTW, I got a killer deal! Thanks to all.

Oddly enough, 100 bucks mbs for good quality bw is way less than the going rate.

I love isprime, likewhoa has been good to us, but for bw that is multiply redundant, has 24 hr live support, someone in the dc at all times, offers a downtime guarantee that matches what we pay OUT, not what we pay in bw, and gives us a good rate I expect to spend at least 200 per mbs.

I'm sure you think you can get it for less, but I want to know that the company that guarantees me this is well connected, has what they claim, and can deliver instantly on these claims. I don't want to hear stories about planets aligned against us, moons out of whack or floods on the roof.

I just want my shit working all the time. 100% of the time actually. And I want sys admins that know what the fuck they are doing too.

I should mention that we pay nowhere near 200 mbs for likewhoa or isprime and that they both do a great job for the money.

Get me on ICQ. We just lit up Internap. I can get you set up for $80/Mbps, with the server included. $800/Mo w/ server $800.
