To think that she broke the news of her website to her family on Thanksgiving day which no doubt may have left her parents feeling mixed emotions, & then to have her go missing & end up like this. You're obviously not familiar with the term "one of our own." It is something that happens a lot in small towns and yes, online communities. Someone from there dies suddenly and everyone is talking, everyone goes to the funeral or posts regrets, even those who didn't really know the person directly. They offer condolences because the person was from their town and was "one of their own." It's very similar to what's happening with this girl here.
She qualifies as one of our own because several here had business dealings with her and knew her, a few obviously considered her a friend. She's in the business thus she's considered one of us. I have no problem with that, why should you?
