What makes him a dweeb? because he is doing his job?
The only thing I disagree with so far is them perhaps identifying him. We all know who it is driving the car of course, but as far as the media knows, they don't have an idea yet. It looks like they probably got the information on the 205 site and backtracked everything else. What a good reason to keep all your WHOIS information private I would say.ICQ: 370 037 008Comment

No offense intended here. . . but. . .
In your first sentence you suggest he is JUST doing his job.
Second sentence you condemn (sorta) the station researchers and news staff for doing THEIR jobs.
This is big news right now in that area. Sad maybe, but that's not the debate. They went an extra mile (probably not at 219) to check him out and tried to scoop the other stations and media. I think they are also doing their jobs.
Will be very interested to see how big this fine is.Comment

You're sooooo cool! It's an arrestable offense. Driving to endanger.. Immediate revocation of license and HUGE fine..
I had to pay $1150 for doing just 185 in my Buick and that was because I got a break from the officer who could have arrested me, impounded my car & revoked my license.. Only thing that saved me is that I stopped for him, because he had no fucking chance in hell of ever catching me if I didn't stop.
Imbecile.
Just shows ONCE AGAIN what a fucking retarded dumb fuck you are.Last edited by Dirty F; 11-28-2007, 08:18 PM.Comment

I didn't condemn at all. Whomever it was called the TV guy a dweeb and I asked why?? because he was doing his job covering the news? no reason to call him a dweeb for that.
My only thought is naming someone on television before they get their day in court per se. You can be tried and crucified in the court of public opinion well before you even get to a regular court. As I said, we all know who the car belongs to, but when you listen to the TV stations, they are still doing their research. I always flinch when they announce someone's name earlier than they really should. That was all. Thx for the callout though, hopefully I explained a little better this time.
I looked at the Arizona laws to see what the possibilities are... there are maximum fines (like $750 from what I read)... it's the severity of the charge that may make jail time a possibility.ICQ: 370 037 008Comment

Just like when they showed up at his front door with camera crew in tote wanting answers.
This sucks for him, that is for sure.
I am sure the fine for this may go higher depending on what they charge him with. And don't forget attorneys fees

That road was/is busier than I thought it was after reading the thread. Of course at night it was quiet but there were still cars and its still a route used by a fair number of vehicles so its very plausible to have cars entering the freeway.XXXRewards - Karups - Boyfun - Jawked. I think the section of freeway he was on may have been a newly opened freeway. It may have been closed for a new rubberized surface and just opened back up. The 202 runs for a long distance. If it was a new section, they may not have had cameras installed and working yet.Amateur ContentICQ: 292 356 077Comment

Check it out, I hit up the Arizona DPS media relations dept. for a statement (as a reporter). They responded in about two minutes. Here's the response:
So apparently they are taking it seriously, it's not media hype...and apparently they are on to something they think is prosecutable. Another point of interest is the word "crime" a criminal investigation can only be for a misdemeanor and above, violations are a civil investigation. So, they are clearly looking for a reckless endangerment or reckless driving charge here. Damn that sucks!Ray: I can only confirm that it is an on-going criminal investigation. We will not be commenting until the case is resolved, which we expect to be short term. I put you on my press list.

This is the dumbest thing (or close) I have ever seen. IMHO they guy had to prove how big his balls were and it's backfiring on him. Funny how all of a sudden he has nothing to say when the news and cops come around. Wouldn't it be funnier if they confiscated his lambo and started using it for prositution stings.
One wrong move, bump in the road and that car would have spun out and killed the passenger and the driver, but possibly also someone else on the road. No excuse for this at all.Latest MMA news. http://www.mmawrapup.comComment

Oh I have some stories of you on your motocycle...... Good times man!Wouldn't come from me. No reason for the pot to call the kettle black, I've done my share of pushing high end sports cars too. I've just never had a car that would break any records like Rob's did.
Its a gorgeous car, I'm sure he is very proud of it.
However, I do think there would be much fewer crimes if video cameras were never invented...

Well being a speed junkie myself. I have to admit that is impressive, although very careless and reckless. Glad no one was hurt!FTVRob and his 2008 Lamborghini Murcialgo LP640 set a speed record going 219mph
He found that road I was looking for. Mostly stright line for miles, rubberized asphalt, smooth...
He honestly didn't expect more than 207-210 at the most optimistic level... But take a look for yourself, he buried the needle to the 220mph mark. :o

I am pretty sure they know, at the end of the bit the woman says something like "I won't say anything about it like you requested" and the reporter guy thanked her for keeping her mouth shut. They either don't want to bring it up yet, or they don't want to give his site any promotion from it. But, that is just my theory.Comment

Erm. You already contradicted yourself by showing the video.
He is driving like an asshole. Anything could have happend... he could have had a blow out... his car go flying ...at that speed, he'd have no chance and could have taken anyone with him.
This is the stupidest thing ... I hope he gets his licence taken away.

Porno Dentist Shreds Speed Limit
Originally posted by TMZ Staff Nov 30th 2007 12:52PMFiled under: Train Wrecks
A local Scottsdale dentist may have set a new record for both speed and douchebaggery in his Lamborghini Murcielago. A video posted on YouTube -- and currently under investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety -- shows the Lambo reaching speeds of about 219 mph -- on a public road!
Although the video never shows the driver's face, his voice is heard. The man behind the wheel is rumored to be one Robert Simyar, Dentist/Porn Website Owner. Nik Richie at DirtyScottsdale.com uncovered some photos of one of the stars of Simyar's site -- and what appears to be the same Lambo being used as a prop.
While the dentist's preoccupation with speed shows no regard for the lives of others on the road, both of his occupations are making people smile.
