Most people get a 4 day weekend with Thanksgiving and kids are out of school, although I don't think it's an official holiday. It is called Black Friday which is the biggest shopping day of the year.

It's called Black Friday because it kicks off the holiday shopping season and people go shopping all day and the stores have big specials.
The only official holiday was Thanksgiving !
