Yahoo vows to stop adult webmasters!

By offering online broadband video game rentals! This should kill a lot of productive hours for some folks.

    http://www.siliconvalley.com/mld/sil...ey/4131267.htm

For $15 a month you can rent up to 10 PC games.

This is a great thing for the millions of people who don't know how to steal them off of Kazaa.

I don't play PC games anymore but I love to see broadband being put to good use in new ways. Yahoo is stepping up to the plate a little bit more every day.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

    Webair, bitches.

I think yahoo will eventually buy the rights to the word "internet" & copyright it.

This will not kill the industry. There's plenty of room for other people as well.
$9.95/month for 15000 GB bandwidth monthly, unlimited (sub)domains and MySQL5, PHP4/5, 500 GB disk storage! ; use any of these invitation codes: 216263692101; 408636009193; 846090586647; my ICQ 30160426!

Actually I was kidding in the title. I do think this is a test for much bigger things to be 'rented' through Yahoo. The strategy is pretty clear.

Renting games this way is a great way to test payment systems and piracy control before starting the mass rollout of an online movie rental service. The technology to do the games has been around for years. Just look at MSN Zone and you could see that. The old head of Yahoo, Ron Meyer, had this planned from his first day on the job. It's a plan he put in motion that's just coming to light.

I expect them to start renting movies and more importantly to us, PORNO MOVIES, by the middle of next year.

I hope all the plug ins in porn sites get a little better. I know if I was surfing for A level movies and I had the option of renting 10 full length full screen 500kbs Jenna Jameson titles for 20 bucks a month I would do it.

I'm not saying this is going to hurt what we do much, I'm just giving a heads up on what's coming from that direction.

I agree in the "I'm not saying this is going to hurt what we do much..." because when big guys like yahoo get into something like that, mayor technological advances will result for everyones benefit.

The adult industry was always the first to either come up with something revolutionary or to take full advantage of it.

Why would Yahoo vow to demolish the porn industry? If you remember, about 2 years ago, they started getting into the adult industry themselves. Putting adult ads on their pages, selling adult commodities. Their share holders started pissing and moaning about it, and they dropped it like a stinky turd.

Yahoo knows the adult industry makes money, and it'll be a cold day in hell when they decide to go toe to toe with porn. How many "adult" webmasters pay them huge amounts of money to get listed in their directory? Do you honestly believe that they will just get rid of that income? I highly doubt it.

The standard business world online DEPENDS on the adult industry. Consider this... If porn were gone from the internet... It would be a shitty place to go. I mean, who really wants to go online to shop for underwear or to shop for books all the time? Not me. I'd rather play with dirt.

              Anyhow, that's my

"I'm selflessly supporting the common good, but only coincidentally looking out for No.1."

I think that it's gonna hurt my adult industry because I'll probably end up joining up and wasting all of my time on there, he he he. That does depend on how current their game list is, which looking at that article, they're talking about old games.
