CDSmith 11-21-2007 11:22 AM

I just let my ccbill cheque come when it comes. I don't know how anyone else operates but I'm not living paycheque to paycheque here, and I know that their cheque always gets here eventually. It doesn't have to be like clockwork.

Fact is I got a cheque from them just this past Friday. Or was it Monday, I forget. It came with 3 or 4 other sponsor cheques.

Are some of you living paycheque to paycheque, is that why one ccbill cheque being a week late is such a cause for concern?

I'm just asking, no insult meant so no one need bring the big guns of the ego monster to bear on me or anything. :D

UncutBucksMike 11-21-2007 11:29 AM

Not necessarily living paycheck to paycheck, but with the fact that they have always come like clockwork, and then very late one week then on time the next and now very late again, it seems very strange. Also, for many of us with kids, Black Friday is coming and we have been planning on beginning Christmas shopping and part of the check was planned to scarf up bargains, LOL. For some site owners, this is the vast majority of our income, so just like most people who get a regular paycheck, you get concerned when it doesn't arrive.

CDSmith 11-21-2007 11:35 AM

Maybe it's a US Postal Service problem and not a ccbill problem?

Could it be?

Could it?

Mail does tend to get clogged up around this time of year.

BumpUglyz 11-21-2007 12:10 PM

no check again, and still waiting on last weeks check too

MrPinks 11-21-2007 01:23 PM

Not living from paycheck to paycheck but CCBill usually sends me a decent check and I like to keep track of my checks in case it got lost, neighbors got it and threw it out, etc... I don't want checks floating around where they don't belong.

MrPinks 11-21-2007 01:53 PM

bdld 11-21-2007 02:07 PM

Why 11-21-2007 02:19 PM

$70 for a wire? i dont think BofA charges that much, even for international wires. CCBill really fuck around dont they.

Time spend worrying about the checks, its ccbill very little concern. Time spent on gfy for the updates during last three weeks maybe three minutes.

As you said time is money and 40 out of 52 weeks of lost interest is a lot of time. Then if I went weekly wire, well again that is a hell of a lot of money.

I am not living check to check. I trust ccbill. Then honestly if they ever go tits up those with wires just like the rest would get hit just as hard if not harder if they waited every 30 days cause in that instance the check people would of gotten more money out. Oh and there are helpful laws in regards to checks and I like having check stubs.

Though you can spend your money how you wish to. We all have been brow beatin about wires over and over again though.

Exactly. :thumbsup

mikesouth 11-21-2007 02:23 PM

Mine was late too. On the one hand Corvette fixed it for me with total professionalism so I cant beat up on him at all.

On the other this seems to be a recurring problem for CCBill and I can help but wonder if they might not get a much better ROI if people got their money on time via direct deposit instead of blaming CCBill because the postal service sucks.

Indirectly it is CCBills fault because it costs them much less to do direct deposit than to mail or fedex checks

On the other hand they loose the revenue from charging 30 dollars a week for a wire transfer

CCBill needs to reconsider their priorities...It seems as though theres always half a dozen things with "higher priority" than getting you paid efficiently.

cybermike 11-21-2007 02:24 PM

Still late here.. thursday is when I usually get mine.. tuesday is the latest when theres a holiday..

Not the case here, I just like to get my money when its due. I hate having to chase money around and keep track of it, and the longer the checks are delayed the harder they are to keep track of. :2 cents:

It wouldn't be hard for them to do ACH transfers, which wouldn't cost either party. :2 cents:

im missing a couple checks too...oh well, the'll get here sooner or later

mhende6600 11-21-2007 02:57 PM

i tired of this late check stuff

Linkster 11-21-2007 03:20 PM

Got the check for this last period today - two days after it was postmarked - which is the normal routine - the other (10/28) still hasnt shown up - although the two before that finally showed up with unusual postmarks on them

Shoehorn! 11-21-2007 04:26 PM

I've been told that mine came today, finally. Nearly a week late though.

Having the cheque arrive at a consistent time means it's easy to tell when it's gone missing. Of course if it's just "late" then you can still figure that out, it's when the delay gets beyond 7 days or the cheques start arriving out of order that you have to worry. :helpme

(Being in Australia I don't have the luxury of being able to time arrivals... sometimes I receive cheques for two periods on the same day.)

That's my whole point really. Me being in Canada I've never stood by the mailbox looking at my watch ever for any particular cheque. I've had as many as 40 different sponsors to keep track of, no way in hell you can Keep tabs on all that when a few cheques are merely a week or two late here or there.

It's when the cheque is a month overdue that I usually start emailing, ICQ, and then a phone call. To date (nearly 10 years now) I have only had two sponsors screw me out of money, both are out of business now.

But in this case it's ccbill. I don't worry about them because they've always paid me, I know 100% that their cheque will arrive eventually. And frankly, to the person who mentioned it, my christmas shopping for this year (and probably next and the next after that) does not hinge on this or any other single sponsor cheque. If I had to (if it was really late) I would phone or message corvette directly about it.

MrPinks 11-22-2007 09:08 AM

I have the same exact situation. Got the check for 11/4 but missing the 10/28 one. This is fucking odd.

Luscious Media 11-22-2007 10:01 AM

I actually stopped payment on one check this Monday for the 10/14 period. It cost me $20 to cancel that check and the fucking thing showed up the next day. Just my luck. Anyhow, I was told the check will be reissued with the next pay period.

That would be great except the checks for last week still haven't arrived. Even with the holiday those checks are a week late. What's really strange is the checks for the week prior came on time. Looking at the postmarks it appears to be a postal issue.

Corvette and the folks at CCBill were there to help me out and answer all my questions as best they could. I have no worries when it comes to them sending me my money. They suggested I change my payments from check to Fed-Ex or wire and I did. I went with Fed-Ex which is $10 domestic delivery, per check. I'm also switching to monthly payouts instead of weekly.

So from now on I'll get two checks via Fed-Ex monthly at a cost of $20 a month or $240 a year, tax deductable I might add. It seems a worth while expense to ensure my checks arrive in a timely manner. Let's just hope Fed-Ex does better than the USPS.

UncutBucksMike 11-23-2007 10:12 AM

Well I just got this weeks check (postmarked Nov 19), but last weeks is still missing. I have contacted corvette to check on Fedex, waiting to hear back. But it sounds like something is seriously screwed up at their PO or they are doing something that is causing PO to mishandle mail. It is metered as presorted first class and there is no way it should be taking this long.

spacedog 11-23-2007 10:21 AM

10/28 check did not get mailed out on time.

Just got it today... both check & postmark are dated 11/13, so it got mailed out a week late & took 10 days to get here.

Also got money order that was mailed to me for an auction item, also mailed from Arizona, got mailed on 20th & only took 3 days..

Post Office must process bulk mail alot slower than normal mail

One of my friends had them tell her this as well when she complained about her check not showing up. I'll direct her to the thread to make sure, but I think it was the 10/28 check also...

I'm very lucky that my CCBill checks have all shown up, it seems. My problem is with getting Cash Uncovered to pay me... they claim to have sent checks, but I haven't received anything from them, ever. Almost a month ago they claimed to be checking with their bank, and I've heard nothing back since even though I keep emailing them... it stinks because their sites convert with hardly any promotion (ie, one text link on a bottom sidebar) but if I can't get the money what's the point?

Iron Fist 11-23-2007 11:12 AM

Mine are like clockwork every Monday morning.... to Canada... these threads are just funny. Someone must be broke and wanted SOOOO BADD to buy beer/drugs this weekend.... but can't. HAHAHAHHA!

signupdamnit 11-23-2007 11:59 AM

I also just got my 11/04 check today but am missing at least one other before that still.

Now wait a minute here. I noticed they are charging us 41 cents but sending this bulk for like 34 cents. Is the 7 cents difference really worth subjecting us to erradic and late delivery? Further we seem to be paying for first class.

And I'm not paying $20 for what is obviously CCBILL's screwup in order to get a check reissued. You've got to be kidding. Someone should be coming on here from ccbill and letting us know that we wont have to pay a $20 fee to get a check reissued for the periods where it seems many webmasters are missing checks.

It is the principle of the matter here. You're charging me for first class, sending it bulk, and then blaming me when it does not come and asking me to pay $20. That's bullshit.

crockett 11-23-2007 11:06 PM

Got my check from the 19th today, but I'm still missing the one from the week before. Why is ccbill ignoring this on the boards? it's not like it's an isolated case.

Has nothing to do with being broke.. It has to do with making sure we get paid and finding out what the issue is. When your checks stop showing up remind me to care.

lol, CCBILL finances my life! LOL

thonglife 11-23-2007 11:29 PM

Just received mine today. Two were postmarked November 13th. That seriously fucked up for first class mail. Everyone at the Tempe post office needs to be canned.

Walrus 11-24-2007 06:07 AM

I still haven't received my 10/28 check.

After Shock Media 11-24-2007 06:26 AM

Seems I am back on schedule. Got more checks today (well yesterday in reality) Friday that is.

I do know I was all fucked up for three weeks but it seems to be back on a somewhat normal schedule for me.

As to those that find it funny or think we must be in a hurry to get some beer money. Politely fuck off. I have been doing this a very long time. I am far from fearful that ccbill is going belly up or running with my money. Nor am I in need of my check right this very second. However it is my money, I do like to get it into my investment accounts as soon as possible. I also plan budgets around such checks. Since I do not like taking money out of investment accounts or personal accounts to pay my current business related bills. So for me late checks mean missing interest as well as accounting issues when it comes to bill paying.

corvette 11-24-2007 11:46 AM

anyone whose check is over a week late please email me, we want you to get your money as much as you do and get to the bottom of the post office issues. thanks
