is the word "teen" for domains penalized?
i still haven't caught on whether or not teen would be categorized in the bad neighborhood of adult for search engines..
i would understand young... but what about teen? any thoughts?

i do know some major hosting companies don't allow "teen" in domains they host ... but i haven't heard of search engines coming down on that.

On a related note, the data center location can sometimes make a huge difference even within the same company ...
ie. Verio, back when I had some small adult portals, was ok with that stuff at their California datacenter, but not at their Utah one - the reason stated was local community standards. Rackspace generally has a hands-off policy - they host all sorts of stuff that's technically way against their TOS ... ways of reducing problems is using one's own name servers instead of the webhost's, and further making sure the webhost details are not shown anywhere on the whois. Those steps won't stop one who is very determined from getting a site shutdown, but adds another barrier; better ensures that complaints are directed to the owner instead of the webhost who may overreact to a minor complaint. If your are buying traffic (Google comes to mind) then yes - teen is a no-no. They nuke not only the text in ads but make you edit your landing pages.
