Moving to the States, Green Cards Etc Etc

Hey, we're thinking about packing up and heading south for a while... I know it's hard to get a green card, but as a canadian business owner, wanting to move my company and people to the states... is there anyway to expediate the process that anyone knows of? For example, are there lawyers that specialize on assiting businesses and their employees make a move to the states or anything?

Any info helps, thanks!

Being a drain on society seems to be the norm ... moving a company here and actually being able to pay taxes, well, that sounds fishy. Good luck and if you get in, thank you.

sorry, how does that sound fishy? there are certain things when it comes to the USA that make it appealing for an established canadian company to want to relocate there... and in doing so, one would pay taxes there... i dont see what's fishy about that at all.

It won't help you a bit. Business visas are for investors that invest in us business' 500K or more.

Moving your business here will help a little if you plan to employ Americans and not bring people in with you.

Honestly, Nick -

As a (fellow) American, you'll have fewer civil liberties. As a non-citizen, you'll be treated like shit, and as a citizen if you get naturalized, you'll still be treated like shit.

What sort of actual 'business' are you moving? There's only a few specific ones you can get away with, and "internet pornographer" is not necessarily legal anywhere but Las Vegas and New York.

In Canada, you have all of the amenities of the US, and a few more.

Thanks... We run a live adult chat website, 7 girls, no huge operation, but moving as much money as we do in a year, taxes are killing us here in Canada... like making it difficult for us and our people to live as well as we should for how much we work... then to throw accounting fees on top of that for both corporate and personal... it's too much. We are actually thinking Nevada.... personal and corporate tax free... we could give up our office here and rent a gorgeous 7 bedroom house in the vegas area for less then 3K a month and stop worrying about CRA taking all of our money.

Their is a visa called E1 and it takes about 8 - 12 weeks. Ping me at jay at objectcube.com if you want more info, I am a Canadian Citizen now living on a green card in US. Also you need to make a 'clean' move from Canada to US or you end up paying tax in both places.
