you know you responses really piss me off....management is just a little big more? its a huge part of the price on all servers and very important wtf is a control panel you can do almost nothing if u have a real problem.
anyway i just dont see it fair you come on gfy where all hosting companies are managed and posting here like you offer the same service...you should fucking mention everywhere its unmanaged.

everywhere on our site it says unmanaged. it specifically even explains how the unmanaged hosting works.

we go as far as LISTING what is included and what isnt, not to mention that all clients are AWARE that we are unmanaged, unless they add management, before they signup. we dont trick anyone into signing up if this is something you are worried about.

TidalWave 11-17-2007 04:25 AM

big_red can even attest to our service quality level. even though we are technically "unmanaged" we still do help everywhere possible. we helped him out a lot when he was first getting setup, and we didnt ask for a dime! we know we have to keep our customers happy Oracle, otherwise they would leave us the very next month and do you think that would keep us in business or allow us to make any money?

it sure wouldnt...

no im not worried about that (although im sure that happened at least once...that someone signed up and didn't know it was unmanaged)...just nowhere on gfy you mention it's unmanaged.

The 10MB test file is pretty slow for me. I have a 24/1 connection, and the max speed I get is like 124 kB/s while I normally should be able to get around 1,30 MB from the USA..

You might wanna check that out

TidalWave 11-17-2007 06:38 AM

justsexxx it would help me out if you could send me a traceroute to 66.212.16.170 or pacificrack.com

just paste it in an email to alex [removethis]@ pacificrack.com

yes, they did help me get off and running. I ran into a couple snags and they made sure I got through them. Now things are humming along nicely. much appreciated to the Pacific Rack crew. :thumbsup

O'Really? I'm getting around 50-60 kB/sec from the UK, or to put it in context, my USA shared hosting account with Cogent peering outperforms your network.

ladida 11-17-2007 11:46 AM

I'm maxing out the connection on the test file from US and Europe. Both around 300 kb/sec.
