Is "The Thing" that bad? I was going to buy it for Xbox. Mostly seems to get good reviews and the movie was cool.

Saw the commercial...but don't really like playing these types of games on PS2 or any other game console.

doom 3 will most likely suck. most of the good workers id software had have gone to other companies.

fps games have turned into slow paced yawns with the introduction of q2. q3 and ut2k3 are ok, but nothing that really makes me wanna play all night like quake or doom 2.

Exactly... maybe also Serious Sam, but I did not play it. Even Quake4 will be slow and limited to 4 players... I just hope it will be good for 1on1 games.

I'm still playing good 'ol Quake III. I still got my old Doom I and II, Quake I and II CD's.
