Philippino outsourcing...will it lead to a shortage?

with nearly all of the outsource operations in the philippines, will there be a shortage of "qualified" people or is it still just an extremely small % that are part of the outsource workforce?

I'll type real slowly for you ;-)

with all of the major outsource companies being based in the Philippines, I wonder if there will come a time where there is a labor shortage of outsource employees. Will it come to a point where anyone with a pulse will be stuffed into a cubicle and labelled a "designer" or a "programmer"?

an outsourcee would probably have far less typos than me ;-)

With the Philippine Piso on the rise and the US$ on the dive the Filipinos may want to outsource jobs to North America .... LOL

Nah, that market changes all the time, right now India has more than enough educated people to take care of 90% of all the outsourced work in the World. Of course with their economy growing rapidly their wages might increase to a point when they'd become too expensive (this is what more or less happened with most of the Eastern European countries).

Then there's Africa too - I know that France outsources shitload of work there (same time zone, fluent French spoken etc), of course IMO there are far more educated Africans in the the ex-French colonies than the rest of the continent, not to mention that the Internet is way to expensive, but yet gain things change...

but the rise of the Phil. Peso is true. So for some reason, cost of service incrementally increased lately.

And for SykkBoy2, i don't think it will come to a point that it will run out of people coz outsourcing is just a very small portion of working pop.

Thus, Antonio is right. India I think is far more larger outsourcees than of Philippines.
