how does 1 mth old site get its Fake PR6?

rawpinions.com

1 month old site shows as PR6 and valid page rank

something in the page source seems to be tricking the google PR toolbar

there is a trackback link in the page source that shows a url that has true pr6, so i assume that is what is happening, but can anyone explain this better?

Site apparently have nothing shaddy.

I can assume what could have happened..

1) Domain was registered 28-Sept 2007.

2) A couple days latter submitted to many many social bookmarking sites (backlinks pattern tells this, for example: http://humor.netscape.com/story/2007/09/30/rawpinions )

3) On 2nd or 3rd October, when PageRank snapshot was taken, his story was on homepage of some high PR social bookmark site, like netscape, stumble etc.
(and I know that PR snapshot was taken around early Oct 2007)

4) And that high PR homepage link gave this domain PR6.

Its nothing, just luck of that guy. And of course same thing happened to everyone on the homepage at PR snapshot date.

Other than that, backlinks alone are not justifying PR6.

Well, Google Toolbar do not look at page source for PR .. it connects to toolbarqueries.google.com to get the PR .. so page source cannot trick/manipulate PR on the fly, it can only do via a permanent redirect.

Having PR6 doesn't tell that site is not in sandbox .. site might still be in sandbox, but sanbox or too-many-links-too-fast-filter is used to prevent site from getting ranked. It have nothing to do with PR.

PageRank is only and only related to backlinks, thats why this site can have PR6 but still in sandbox.

Its PR4 from PR2 or PR2 from PR4?
