| I have a 62 inch DLP and a 40 inch plasma, and the picture on the plasma is way better. If I could do it over I would have gotten the 50 inch plasma (biggest the store had at the time) over the DLP. I bought the DLP because it was the biggest screen in the store, and being a male I'm obsessed with size

 | I've always been put off by plasmas, because everyone craps on about picture burnout. Not a problem anymore? Think I need to go check out some of the review sites. Thought there'd be a lot of people in here who use quality stuff day in day out who could give me a real user's point of view. |

My DLP has alot more features, has HD as well...and the plasma isn't even HD capable....and still the plasma has the better picture. Now it could just be the brand of plasma vs the brand of dlp I have....but my experience has been that plasma is superior.

 | I have a 71 inch Samsung DLP, it is 1080P and only cost me around 5K Canadian. You can't hang it on a wall, but you can't beat the price for the size you are getting. And the picture quality is the best I have seen. |

 | One Rule: STAY AWAY FROM TOSHIBA. Fuckers have the worst customer service ever, and their TV's are notoriously unreliable, especially DLPs. |

However, I can get you a great deal on pretty much any tv you want. A close friend of mine runs on of the largest commercial installation companies in Minnesota, he saved me about $700 on my $2400 Sharp Aquos, including shipping. ICQ if anyone is interested. I'll take a couple hundred and still save you 5.

 | I really like Samsung products, my monitor and current lcd are both Samsung, so to you, I'd have to recommend this 57 Samsung LCD http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d...=LNT5781FX/XAA which they claim to have solved the issues of true black, I never seen one in person to tell though. In plasma, Samsung sells a 63 incher - http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d...d=FPT6374X/XAA which sell for $4,900-$5,500. |

Pros: Handy on the go! Cons: Caused massive weight gain. "I had my doubts at first, but after bringing two of these puppies home, all doubts were removed. This thing is BAD! Bad as in GOOD, folks. I hooked up HDDVDs, XBOX 360 and even my PC (Everquest) resulting in me gaining 98 lbs over a 12 week time frame. Life has actually got cheaper since the $64k purchases, believe it or not. My girlfriend has left me and friends and family hardly come over any more since the only thing I can focus on is my 70 inch GOD of ENTERTAINMENT. You might ask, "What did you do with your second one?", GOOD QUESTION. I slapped that bad boy in the dash of my 1986 Montecarlo LS (Luxury Sport). The ladies love it, I heard. Haven't actually driven it since the install since the seats had to be removed. Well anyways, I personally think the second mortgage on the house was worth it. Give it a try and tell me what you think..."

Right now I have the 50" Philips Ambilight Plasma and I really like it alot. My only complaint is I had to really tweak the settings to get the picture right on it / how I like it. There are a ton of options, which I guess is good.. just took me a while to get it set. HD is awesome- love it for the HD Sunrise Discovery channel stuff.
