After awhile domains lose their position within the search engines if not maintained properly and there are few domains that have enough inbound links as to keep uniques at a decent level without SEOing them...

As far as I understand from observation from over three years, is that providing that you have a main keyword located within your domain and such keywords are searched for via the SEs; you stand to have a good domain name.

Without getting into SEO issues I think asking people if they have a good domain is somewhat retarded, no offense, because everyone will say they have a good domain...
