    Proton To Launch 'Muslim Car'

    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (AHN) - Malaysian automobile maker Proton announced on Monday plans to develop an "Islamic car," intended for Muslim motorists. The "unique" vehicle will have a compass that points to Mecca, the holiest site among Islam, and a dedicated space to keep a copy of the Koran and a headscarf.

    In a statement, Proton said it has started negotiations with car makers in Iran and Turkey to produce the car.

    It adds that a delegation of Malaysian businessmen and politicians in Iran brought home the idea after Iranian officials made the suggestion.

    While most car manufacturers always market their vehicles for their safety and fuel efficiency, Proton says a specially designed cars for Muslims across the globe represent a gap in the market.
    ... A place for the Koran and a headscarf ... Isn't that a glove compartment ????

    ... A compass ... pointing to the mecca ???? Just tear out one of these from the dashboard....

                  Don't laugh ... A few years ago, I was eating in a downtown restaurant, right in the business district... I see a van stop ... People come out , with rugs in their hands ..they looked around, trying to find the mecca thru all the sky scrappers, and finally kneel down and start their prayers ...
                  Din't know that restaurant had a floor show ....

                              The US government is behind it. All of these cars will have a GPS transmitter that will be able to tell the US exactly where the car has been in the past six months. Been near a suspected terrorist watering hole? Then kill when they pull up to the checkpoint.
