WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A 26-year-old man, who works as a manager and bartender at a DC strip club, underwent surgery Monday for burns over more than half of his body. A spokesman for Good Guys said the manager is still in critical condition but showed some signs of improvement.

The manager was doused with gasoline Saturday night by a customer who had minutes earlier been escorted from the club. Sources inside the club familiar with the events, said the customer left peacefully after being confronted about taking pictures of the dancers with his cell phone. The staff said they erased the images and returned the phone.

According to the sources, the man went to the Chevron station nearby and purchased a plastic container of gasoline and a lighter. When he returned to the club the manager confronted the man just inside the doorway. During a struggle, the manager was splashed with the fuel and the lighter was used to ignite it. The man ran off. DC Police believe the man was also likely burned.

Good Guys is closed for repairs and is expected to reopen on Wednesday.
