For example, All4U.com and AllForYou.com both from 1997, combined I offered them for sale for like $7,700 (for both, not each). I tried to sell them for all of 2007 with not so much as one serious offer. And even more amazing is the fact that several "experts" felt with their evaluations, that allforyou.com alone was premium and should be worth around $10,000 wholesale. Actually look at this .... http://estibot.com/results.php?domain=AllForYou.com. I had similar problems trying to sell BigHardCocks.com and LiveNakedMen.com, also domains regged in like 1997. Never found a buyer for either of those domains. So ya, blah. Age is important, especially when it comes to serious SEO but it isn't enough to greatly increase the value of your domain name. I wished it was though cause I would be sitting pretty right now. :) |
pretty interesting list :thumbsup

Didn't domains cost like $100 a domain per year back then?
Would be a small fortune just to keep it... and it was a major gamble back then... gopher was the closest thing to a WWW - there was no big reason why having a domain name was beneficial - no one had one and buying computers were prohibitively expensive. Its fun to look back on it now..but I was around back then, running a 21 line BBS and thinking of the golden days... that was when the internet truly was free...as in speech... |
I can't even remember how much domains cost back, but I do remember when the price went DOWN to $35 a year per domain.
For years we all paid $35 a year, no matter how crappy they treated us or what mistakes they may have made. You paid that money and shut up about it, or you didn't have a domain name. Luckily now that isn't the case. If you don't like Network Solutions you can go over to GoDaddy or the other 10 zillion places. |
and to think they didnt get banthis.com ...suckers
