The Dems sure are a bunch of pussies.

Mutt 11-06-2007 04:08 PM

i feel bad for the United States - both sides are run by a group of idiotic grandstanders. Washington needs to be swept out of all of them and start over. career politicians suck.

what happened today was silly politics and an embarassment.

Flynn 11-06-2007 04:11 PM

Dammit, I'm getting all of my news from GFY again. I need to take a break and get out more. haha

Too good to be true, let's hope the Pentagon and Bush don't declare state of emergency like in Pakistan.

I get the impression that you think an impeachment is more than it really is.

Longer term this could backfire for the republicans: Each of them voted essentially to support impeaching Cheney, not to kill the motion. That would suggest that even Republicans think he should go.

If in fact this gets opened into a larger can of worms, the republicans will have to massively flip flop to avoid sending their own VP to slaughter.

Kucinich is the biggest joke in politics.

Mutt 11-06-2007 05:00 PM

the whole election is just going to come down to whether the average American in the red states is ready to vote for a ball breaking lesbian bitch or a black man. :2 cents:

Update at 4:30 p.m. ET: Perhaps we should pause to explain. When most Republicans unexpectedly -- and on orders of GOP leadership, the AP is reporting -- switched sides and voted against tabling the measure, they essentially forced Democrats to keep talking about it on the floor. Tabling the measure would have killed it.

Debate over Cheney's impeachment is in direct opposition to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's wishes. She has repeatedly said an impeachment of Cheney or President Bush is off the table. Thus, failing to table this measure is a essentially a jab in Pelosi's ribs.

"We're going to help them out, to explain themselves," Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, told the AP of the impeachment's supporters. "We're going to give them their day in court."

Update at 4:32 p.m. ET: The House just voted, 218-194, to send the resolution to the Judiciary Committee. That should end today's debate -- but it does keep the resolution at least technically alive.

and this circus is what our hard earned tax money goes to... what a fucking joke.. i want my money back.

dig420 11-06-2007 05:57 PM

I wonder what BushCo is using to blackmail Pelosi?

Hollywood Horwitz 11-06-2007 06:32 PM

I wish it would happen but I really doubt it.

Megafoo 11-06-2007 06:42 PM

Bush wants the impeachment, but remember that impeachment is considered the process, not that he was impeached! ( i think i said that correctly). Basically Bush is betting on the fact that when the impeachment process finally happens it will make the democrates look like complete fools ( and probably will). After that happens he can probably find some excuse to run for a third term or something similar (sarcasm).
