Im sure it would be news to just about everyone since Ive never heard it and Ive been pushing them since they started day one - and never had any issues with them at all - for about a year they were actually my top sponsor for conversion rates - but with all of the sponsors rates dropping for this last year they are about the same as everyone now :thumbsup

Linkster, I understand where you are going with this, but remember, Zango is like spam. All the programs will say "gee, it sucks, we hate it" but in the end most of them will gladly profit from it if there is money on the table.

Only a very few programs are truly interested in doing anything about Zango.

Linkster 11-07-2007 12:14 PM

A few tests completed this morning

Fling - get a pop from adultmatchheat - very delayed - took about 15 secs to show up - also occurs using the fling gay ref link

MayorsMoney - tested one toon site and got a popover from titanime - checking some more links later

AdultPayMaster - popover on the join form for AmateurMatch on tastelesstoons - still working some more sites

NastyDollars - so far havent found anything added by Zango - still checking sites though

Linkster 11-07-2007 12:26 PM

Alex - every sponsor Ive talked to so far has asked me to check more of their sites and want referrals to other sponsors that have been able to combat these issues effectively - while I know there are going to be a percentage of sponsors that really dont care - I think they are few so hopefully this will help

Allison - thanks - and the net round of tests will be using some of those other programs - we are basically working our way through the highest percentage of referrers to our sites based on the urls but wanted to get zango out of the way first - and I agree - there are literally hundreds of these types of programs according to our looking at user-agents

Keep up the good work man.

Thanks.

Ok thanks for the info. It doesn't sound like Zango is targetting TopBucks sites. ~Alli

Alli - I went back and cleared cookies - went in to backseatbangers - and immediately got a pop from AFF with a ref code of P322292 - which is interesting because the ref code I get for epiccams is one off from that - P322291 - looks like they have two aff or house) codes being inserted for AFF pops

Been checking the NastyDollars sites - nothing so far yet

Went back and verified the pop on the CCBill join page for one site - the url was the bill.ccbill page - when checking the newer type join page I didnt get it for another site - with the url at beta.ccbill

Sebastian Sands - I checked your sites (without an affiliate code) and dint see anything

In the midst of checking the Bang Bros sites - and nothing there yet

RealityCash - didnt get any pops or redirects

Score-cash - I checked your sites - and got a pop from mycruisevalue dot com on your boobcruise site
Got a pop for totaldivorce dot com on your 40something site
Otherwise the other sites seemed clean

Epiccams - went back and got an immediate pop over the first page from AFF - ref id P322291

Ed - LotzaDollars - got and itextyou dot com pop on Loris site (SCG)

Just for my own interest - I did look at some free sites as well - and was quite surprised
I went to teeniesxxx and got a pop for adultdvds1 dot com - although it looks like zango has a good click tracking script to prevent fraud so I couldnt get it to repeat
I then went to world sex and clikked on the link to "more free sites" and got a popup from funbox dot com advertising wildmatch with an aff id (pussycash) of 124559716740
Then got a quick pop from textlovebox dot com
Again I couldnt get it to repeat - will try some IP and proxy changes to see later

Note that adultdvds1 dot com only promotes Codec trojans as well.

Don't worry, it will repeat. Zango is popping those codecs over just about everything.

wtf is beta.ccbill.com?

Can you please check our sites?

Linkster 11-08-2007 06:09 PM

Ray - sure will test them - will report back in the afternoon tomorrow

that ccbill beta page, best I can tell is a new join page they are using on some sponsors as I only see it for some specific sites (example is nubiles) - not really sure of the purpose of the change?

zango is one of the top spyware user agents in my logs..

at over 1% of web infection rate i would say they qualify as a "major" problem.

Zango shows up due to a court order that forces them to do so. 99% of spyware will leave no logs, referrals, ect. Really, Zango is on the low end of the scale for webmaster dangers.

RawAlex 11-09-2007 09:19 AM

Ray, consider this thread:

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=783221

Your less likely to get hit on your join pages, IMHO, because you don't use signup/signuppage.php or whatever the standard is. That is already a good start towards not giving the people something easy to trigger on.

Buying a popup from Zango for every signup/signuppage.php that comes up, putting another free join page over the top would be a very effective way to get a ton of signups from everyone else's websites.

Mike Dutch 11-09-2007 09:32 AM

Good Thread Bump

Zebra 11-09-2007 09:46 AM

We redirect our spyware infected traffic to a page with spyware removal tips and we track the traffic to that page with google analytics. Over the past 3 days the traffic from zango and other spyware has tripled. This is really getting out of hand.

Trey you ever thought about sueing Lars (AFF)? I know zango is the company that is actually providing the means for your traffic to be stolen but AFF is the company that is doing it. They are intentionally targeting your traffic, so thousands of hits and who knows how many sales from you and all your affiliates is going to Lars.

What AFF is doing is no different then what Mike Hood did or anyone that steals from you. Zango only makes a couple cents for each hit that is stolen, AFF is the ones making a killing off of your traffic.

Nice Job Linkster.

If you have the time, please review:

www.panchoDog.com
www.weconvert.com
www.shedevildollars.com

We've always prided ourselves on being on top of these things, but nothing like a 3rd party to make sure :thumbsup

We have also seen over 20+ hybrids of Zango and the like. These things are not going to be easy to take care of. Forming an organization to combat this is the easiest first step.

Rico 11-09-2007 02:50 PM

AndiPink Dot com would be something special to look at.
ArielRebel Dot com (DC)
KatieFey DC
FelicityFey DC
KristinaFey DC
ParisTale DC

ETc :)

Good job Linkster! :thumbsup

Perhaps instead of you having to do all of the grunt work, you could post a tutorial explaining how site owners can check out their sites themselves (set-up, what to look for, test procedures, etc).

Then everyone could post their results.

Your efforts to help the community are appreciated...

ADG - I dont really mind as it gives me a nice distraction from rendering, updates etc - and Im afraid that the more I put out in the open about testing the harder the "targets" will encode their stuff to resist testing - this really started based on my own review of my raw logs that I do and an incredible drop over the last year in affiliate sales that I cant attribute to anything else (as long as Ive been doing this its easy to see when something is out of place as you know)

Had to take a little time off this morning to go pick out my new ride - finally decided to upgrade form my wrangler unlimited to one of the new wrangler unlimited saharas - what a neat little toy thats gonna be Monday :1orglaugh

OK - Tonights results so far:

Ive been checking over the sites within NSCash (the base sites so far) and havent found anything popping or replacing so far

Checked the TastyDollars sites for Ray - out of 8 sites I checked I got no pops or problems :thumbsup

Checked DawsonMiller and also nothing from zango

Rico - checked your three programs - heres what I saw:
On your PanchoDog program - on the affiliate main page before login - I got a popup from casfinancialgroup dot com
On the actual paysites I got nothing at all

On the WeConvert program I saw nothing unusual unless the popups for unitedpimps arent yours

On the SheDevilDollars - the only thing I saw - but again I figure its yours - was a pop for shedevilfilms on the felonyangel site

I went back and cleared cookies again and then started checking some free sites (TGPs and LLs)

I started at Worldsex after last nights test - clicked a banner that OkiDoki has on the first page leading to AFF just to see what would happen - since I had received the AFF pop on the links page last night - got an immediate popup for millionairemate with a different ref ID (P45417) - I dont believe that is Pierres' aff ID
then received a Fling popup over AFF with a ref ID of nyceguy

Did some other checking on the top 20 pornstar TGPs out there and didnt see anything

I have a few more programs to check and then Im swapping over to the next spyware program

One thing I did notice on a few paysites out there - a nice big "fuck spyware" and links to help the surfers out - Ive always been of the opinion that the more we can help the surfers out like this the better "loyalty" you build - and they tend to remember the paysites or freesites that helped them out - so congrats to the guys and gals taking this stance :thumbsup

I'm going to jump in here and add one or a few if that's ok.

somethingsexyplanet.com targets just about every sextoy store, in this case they are targeting PECash with the keyword 'shop*sex+.sex-superstore.com'

I showed Nastydollars an affilate ID where they were hijacking link codes.

Nastydollars tested the spyware themselves and terminated the account.

I can't remember the exact name of the spyware it was like a year ago.

Anyway out of all the sponsors I reported this too, nastydollars impressed me with how they handled it.

Looks like they are back at it again. They are using zango to take their OWN affiliate's traffic and direct it from one of their sites (AFF) and send it to another one of their sites (Millionairemate).

WOW, stealing from their own affiliates.

This makes what CJ.com is being sued over look like nothing. In that case CJ.com affiliates is sueing CJ for allowing some of their affiliates to use zango which is hurting the rest of their affiliates. In this case AFF, the company is using zango to target their own sites and affiliates, to circumvent having to pay these affiliates. Slam dunk case. wow.

and no matter what you say or do, there are still idiotic affiliates that will continue to promote those scum fucks.

its pathetic how ignorant most affiliates are. they deserve to get fucked over like this if they are going to ignore these facts

idiot case in point. SleazyDream.

Scotty not only keeps sending them traffic but he blows his buddy Lars.

IDIOT! IDIOT!

I feel like I should start sending them traffic just so I can sue them. All those people that said they pulled links to AFF, i don't know why they don't contact
http://www.cjclassaction.com/ and start one against AFF. It would be a SLAM DUNK case. I think the lawfirm does it for portion of the winnings too, so doesn't look like any out of pocket cost (not 100% sure).

LazyII 11-10-2007 02:11 AM

A good thing

At least texasdreams is gone so this hunt for those sponsors stealing from their own affiliates can continue. Texasdreams banned at least one here for accusing AFF for theft by Zango. No proof he said! And supported by his buddy SleazyDream.
