    Why is the case "Madeleine" so popular??

    I don't get it.. there are thousands of children who disappear each year...

    but none of them become so famous like this girl Madeleine..

    Why is her everywhere in all the media, newspapers and TV programs?

    Are her parents powerful in England? Are they linked to the government or what?

    I just don't get it..

    And don't tell me it's because her parents could be part of it, because the case was already spread everywhere just the day after she disappeared..

    I consider unfair that all the other thousands of missing children don't have this chance to be in media all over the world, like this GIFTED family has...

    Just wonder why they have these privileges???? There must be something...

      Much the same as the Ramsey case CG - the press had "theories" and could dwell on speculation - voyeuristic journalism.

      Na.. both parents are docs, no "influence", but they have, with friends/family, created a website and have faced the media in an attempt to sustain public awareness.

      It's really a press thing in the UK - they will devour anything and create their own stories to match the scenario and have a dramatic headline.

                  Because the media hadn't had such a case in a long while.

                                          Loads. when i was that age my parents let me wander around the french village and meet new kids all the time
