Stealth Aircraft - how stealth are they now?

Reading all this ufo shit got me thinking.....why don't we have stealth aircraft with a LCD outer cover, that can scan the sky ahead of it, & perfectly sync the graphics onto the "lcd skin" so that when you look up into the sky.....it would appear perfectly normal.

In other words, copying the exact weather/sky/cloud formations right onto screens which cover for example...the bottom of an aircraft.

So not only can you not see it on radar, but can't see it with the naked eye...

hmmmmmm, i bet we already got that technology....prolly what eventually turned into flat screen tv's & lcd displays....

That would probably make it visible on radar, with all the extra electronics....

i wonder what the radar reflection properties of a liquid crystal display would be....

and i wonder if a lcd/projection screen could be molded into the "radar deflecting" shapes that stealth aircraft sport

and you never could really see a stealth anyhow they are so fast.

The stealth gets its name for being steath on the radar, not for being stealth by the naked eye

actualy, the army was developing a suit like this a few years ago
and it had air conditioning and armor, with motors to help the soldier move because it was so bulky and heavy

true shit

thought they are pretty slow actually... subsonic and would fly like bricks if it was for all the computing power onboard... think thats why they do most of their combat missions at night...

nah what happens when you view it from a different angle?.. thats all nice for something flying straight overhead but someone 30 degrees away will see something different.. someone 60 degrees away will see it in front of a cloud.. you can't show each degree to each viewer there are only so many surfaces to display on.. wouldn't it just be easier to fly so high up you can't see them?

I'm sure it could be done at different angles to create the same effect from almost all vantage points

But i'm no rocket scientist!

Ahhhh, have you ever tried to use a PDA and looked at it from an angel and 5 metres away, I looked really bad and when you have LCD's in day light there unreadable, not strong colors it would probably just look like a big fuzzy white plane instead of a cloaked invisable plan like you envisage.

They have radar absorbing skin and there not fast. Top speed of a F-117 is about 450 mph. There subsonic. The old supersonic days of the SR-71 are over. The exhaust is also diverted for infared. And it's only getting better.

they are infact slow, and they were never designed to be high speed aircraft.. i see them frequently as the bomber is stationed at whiteman AFB near me

They do have that match the background technology in development. It works by having one side of the camofluage gear read the light behind you and then it recreates on the front side so you just kind of continuosly blend in with the background.

I know a guy who used to fly one and believe it or not, he said that you could be extremely close to one and not even know it's there, so it must not be TOO loud. I'm not quite sure exactly how it all works, but he said that him and his buddies used to have a lot of fun sneaking up on each other in them, lol.

Um.. I was in the Air Force working on F-15's and got quite a few chances to see F-117's up close.. they are jet black. Flew to Saudi once and had one flying along side our transport.. stuck out like a big black airplane against the blue sky.

Why doesn't someone slip Wonder Woman a mickey and steal the keys to her Invisible Jet then reverse engineer the fucking thing. Duh!

Your "witty" remark is even funnier after pr0's idea is proven valid

Stealth fighters aren't meant to not be seen by the eye.. There is really no need to make them invisible to the eye. So what if some guy sees it on the ground.. What in reality is he going to do about it?

Radar is the only thing that matters for a stealth aircraft.

The F-117A and the B-2 are subsonic. Stealth != fast.

You probably read the same Maxim article I did, back in like 2002. They talked about the stealth camouflage, using tiny lcd's on the front which projected the image from behind on to them. Porting the idea to a different object would only be a logical next step.
