:2 cents: And it's not bad for drinking, either... the Chardonnay just won a "Best of California" award at some competition in North Cal a month or two ago. Hehe... beat out wineries such as Silverado and V. Sattui... at $2 a bottle. Gotta love it. |
okay, just ordered a giant mozarella cheese and sliced tomatoes and a giant pepperoni for 12 bucks :)

I always thought people just use cheap wine to cook... that's what we do. What are you using?
Just like people use cheap beer to cook. |
I eat well constantly for under $10 for 2. A trip to Trader Joe's does wonders. Lots of good fish, fresh vegetables, fruits, etc. hell..Even toss in a bottle of Two Buck Chuck! If you're a pasta fan, they have lots of pastas packed with taste. http://kitchen.apartmenttherapy.com/...e-pasta-032147 is a fave.

Boy Alley your issue is your confusing the 10.00 rule and the typical guidelines. Often pantry items never count, and on top of that your shopping needs to adjust so what you buy may be over 10.00 yet when streached out over a few meals the total cost comes way down. Example a bag of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts wrapped in pairs and sold in groups of 5 bagies (10 breast halves) costs like 15.00 However that is 5 dinners worth of chicken - thus a dinner cost item of 3.00 or 1.50 a person. A bottle of 20.00 wine when used for cooking, and average usage is 1/4 cup (750 ml, thus 25.4 fl oz) equals 1.58 or so per recipe. Hell I can still add in truffle oil to my pantry items *allow for its cost though and still keep a dinner cost per person below 5.00 or 10.00 for two. Though again nobody expects the flour, sugar, salt, pepper, oil *common ones, corn meal, etc to really count as full purchases towards your total meal costs. |

That recipe sounds like shit. The cheapest meal I can think of off of the top of my head is one of my favorites. If you cooking for two go get 2 bonless skinless chicken breast, pack of tortilla shells, shredded cheese, etc... most of the ingrediants you should have already. Marinate the chicken, cook it on the pit, slice it up into strips, make fajitas, and add a bake potatoe or can corn, or whatever you want for a side. I love fajitas off the grill and can't image it would cost much for 2 people to eat, easy as shit to make you really cant mess it up. |
you chose a meal containing both "Bisquick®" and chunky salsa... teh boy alley should have seen this coming.:2 cents::2 cents:

FIFTY MEALS FOR POOR BREEDERS
|
Ok now your just trying to get us riled up.
Would say blackened salmon, asparagus spears, scalloped potatoes, and a baked apple desert still fall under poor breeder food for under 10.00 for two people, using no pre made shit, well aside from oats I dont crush my own :) |

Who? Me? Try to get breeders riled up? NAH!!!!!! :winkwink: |
Let me get this straight.. you’re fag as fag can get and yet you’re telling me that you never tasted shit off your ruckus cock? I find it hard to believe.

Well...
If any of ya guys were decent men you would have a lady that cooks for you... Instead ya get a gay guy telling ya what is proper to spend on a meal and bicker about what street thugs consider fine dining. GFY does entertain! |

Bisquick is fine for biscuits, dumplings and pancakes... and peanut butter blossom cookies.. but thats about it really.
You'd have done better to do one of the recipes on a box of stove top stuffing. There's one I like on there that is really just bite sized chopped chicken breast, thin layer of mozzerlla cheese, then stuffing (mixed with 1 can diced tomato's and some minced garlic and half cup water), then jam it in the oven for a while. Yeah it's a cheap-ass meal, especially if you buy giant family packs of chicken. I think as long as you're cooking for yourselves, you're saving money anyway. |

That sounds disgusting. You can definitely cook a great many meals for that price with better ingredients than that slop. allrecipes.com is your friend :)
Hell, a good pot of Elli's home-made spagetti sauce is cheap! :) ground beef (not so lean) ($2.50) can stewed tomatoes (80 cents) can diced tomatoes (80 cents) can base tomato sauce ($1.50) red, green pepper (50 cents) onion (30 cents) garlic (15 cents) box dried spaghetti ($2) Throw it in a pot and you're off to the races! |
