Well, perhaps I'd buy some more typein domains, but not for more than a million. I'd park them and start constant travelling around the world indeed, without actively doing anything in online/adult at all anymore.

I'd have fun and gain new experiences for 2-3 years and then I'd settle down somewhere, although I'd still be having lots of time and money to travel.

But I guess I'd get married, and come back maybe to develop one of my domains into a mainstream web business. Nothing in adult anymore, no GFY for sure.

I'd also do some silent charity work and support some local sports club. Ok, $16Million isn't THAT much, but Im talking about some small stuff, just about having something to plan, think about, take care of. I really doubt I'd start a big business from that $16Million. I'm just not as much money driven in life, as most people here. IMO people are more important than money. I'd rather have 5 REAL friends than $50 Million and only fake people around me.

I guess I'd just live comfortable, wouldn't do any excessive spending like buying 5 different Ferraris and lambos etc.

Yes, I know, on GFY if you want to be cool, you just have to say that if you won $16 Million, you would work hard even more, trying to make $100M of it... but I have no problems admitting that I wouldn't. I was poor as a kid, right now I'm already doing quite good, and a $16Million level would be definitely enough.

Me too.....

Keep telling yourself you are better off than him and you will eventually believe it.

Actually I know Scott very well and I've never seen him play the lottery, so why would he be jealous of something he doesn't care for?

for those that have been to gimli - it's the owner of G&C grocery.

Is that the corner store just down the street from your house?

I would take the 16 million hands down

Agree 100%. I can't even think of comparing conventions with vacation traveling. Done both through the years and vacation traveling wins hands down! :)

BTW, if I won the lottery, I would never tell ANYONE ;)

BradM 10-25-2007 03:47 PM

I could easily retire on 5 million and enjoy myself a great deal. 1 week of travel per month, house paid for cars paid for... easy.

Those who say 'oh no big deal' are dumb.

because he just wrote a long post on GFY explaining why he is glad to be himself and not the guy who won the 16 million.

If he didnt care he wouldnt have posted. It is obvious when he found out it bothered him to some degree or he wouldn't have posted about it. Anyone that starts a thread off with " my neighbor won the lotto" then goes on and on about bragging how good his life is and how he wouldnt want to be that guy who won all that money... = has issues.

What if he wrote: My neighbor won the lotto and it got me thinking. I don't need to win the lotto, I've been blessed and live a happy fun life that I wouldn't trade for 16 million.

I don't know how it works when you win any U.S. lotteries but here in Canada when you win the 6/49 or any others from Wester Canada Lotteries Corp., in order to collect the winnings you automatically agree to having your name publicized as they see fit.

This Grocery store owner's name and story about his win was broadcast on TV and radio news spots for days here, several times per day. It's one of the largest lotto wins in Manitoba history.

Earlier this year a woman from a town north of Winnipeg won $1 mill on a scratch ticket. The big news was that it was the second time she had won a million on such a ticket. Her name and the story of her phenominal second win were blasted all over the media and talked about for weeks.

There's nowhere to hide when you win, except to get your money and leave for a long LONG trip, and leave the damn cell phone behind.

WWC 10-25-2007 09:34 PM

congrats! did he share any with you? a good neighbor would...

People don't believe me when I'm saying it usually but I'd rather earn money through my own ideas than just win it.

honestly - i get that and am on the same page

When I go on vacation with my wife, family, friends, there are no schedules, having to talk about work, or the stress of sometimes trying to get a deal done.

either someone is on your schedule or you are on their's - that's how it works with biz, family and friends.

i prefer having people on mine - maybe that's why i enjoy the shows so much

i dont think anyone gives a shit about your travels or your neighbor winning the lotto.

but thanks for sharing.

That was harsh but i had a good central idea heh..

heymatty 10-25-2007 11:57 PM

How come you didn't congratulate the guy in the thread, or say he deserved it for all his hardwork at the grocery store?

Either he is an asshole who has been running the place in a fairly grumpy way or you are jealous of his win. My guess is its an honest working guy who got lucky, and you can't handle it. So you thought you would rationalise your life as a guy who goes to a few trade shows a year as comparable.

Adult interweb conferences are ok, the parties are ok. But there's alot more to life :)

heymatty 10-26-2007 12:10 AM

PS the reason I wrote this is. Just this week my wife got an email from a friend who she used to work with about a person they both worked with that just won $17mill on a US powerball.

The tone of the guys email was so different to your post. He said everyone at work is going nuts, people are happy for the guy, he won on wednesday resigned on thursday, couldn't of happened to a nicer guy.

Its ok to praise a bit of luck :) Trying to say you have a better life for xyz reasons just makes me think you are pissed.

i congratulated blair myself but honestly - winning that kind of money - i see it as a curse.

i respect blair cause he has and runs a solid business. i'm happy for him and hope he can manage the money properly.

as stated earlier - i really don't play the lottery for that exact reason.

taking everything the wrong way makes me think you're looking for ways to attack me cause you're jealous :2 cents:

i'm happy for blair. he's a great guy. I prey it doesn't become a curse to him.

look to the positive - not the negative.

Do you know how retarded that sounds?

heymatty 10-26-2007 12:30 AM

I'm not attacking you, certainly not because I am jealous of you. Its great you congratulated the man on his curse.

If the guy was a nice hard worker grocery guy before he won the lottery he'll be fine. The ones who go nuts and blow it on hookers are normally broke and crazy to start with. (See Micheal Vick).

got into a discussion with some people today- most said they would travel the world like no one else could do. I thought about this - i wouldn't. I've honestly done that. and still do it regurally.

traveling to probally over 50 porn conventions around the world in over 20 countries I've been able to see the world - first class - with my PEERS - people who UNDERSTAND ME and I love hanging out with - at a level $16 million alone without the connections I have from this business could not afford. and they arn't mooching off me either - everyone pays their own way and at a 1st class level!

now for those of us who travel to porn shows THINK ABOUT THAT. winning $16 million can't even replace the times we've had at the level we've had them at.

imagine buying out every nightclub and entire hotels for your friends - stuff like that and you'd burn your entire $16 million in a year - and we've done it for years!

I'm HONESTLY happier I'm in this business than winning $16 tax free cash.

Thank you God.

You are truly one simple fuck. How much braincells did you burn typing that out? Got any left? I doubt it.

Youre a sad, jealous idiot and it drives you nuts he won that money. Its so fucking clear because youre so easy to read. Simpleton.

This thread is truly amazing. You make a thread about a lotto winner and right away you start bragging about yourself. Pathetic piece of shit.

Polish already said it all :thumbsup

Peaches 10-26-2007 06:53 AM

If nothing else you should be happy to win that money so you can help others with it :)

CD, in talking to my tax accountant (understand I play the lottery MAYBE once every 3 years, lol) he said the best thing to do is create a corporation and have the corporation "win" the ticket. Yes, some investigating will dig up your name but from what I've seen the news isn't really interested unless you're willing to stand up in front of cameras with your 12X4 ft check and tell people you're going to quit your jobs, buy everyone a house, blah, blah, blah. ;)

I'd do what Polish would do and quietly make sure my family was completely taken care of forever, and spend a lot of time renting out planes to fly my friends and I all around the world :)

tony286 10-26-2007 07:02 AM

If won 16 mil I would be a vague memory. No more 2257 bullshit except the old records, no more worrying is visa going to drop out of adult or is some new law is going to happen or models flaking. I would travel a bit then open a few paneras.
