Give Ultra Video Splitter a try:
http://www.soft32.com/download_77051.html The reason Easy is crashing for you is, a MS DLL it requires is mssing or the incorrect version. I've been down that road before with it.

Boilsoft.com has a great Splitter app and VideoCharge.com has another great app. Neither one can successfully split Quicktime or Flash video files though.
