Are people being unfair to Epassporte?

After reading all the latest threads on here about epassporte, I was worried about my money ($xx,xxx) in my account.

A few days ago, I requested a wire to my bank account. They responded the same day and my money is in my account now after 2 days.

Were people being a bit unfair about them, sounding like as if they are going under?

plain yes. They are attempting to meet the needs of too many, so a decision as to what best they pursue would see it firm up.

              Unfair? I don't think so.

I thought the current placement of this thread was ironic

Considering their high fees they should have excellent customer service and fraud protection...... and they have neither.

fact is the only securty anyone has with epassporte is there password.

There are no checks and balnces with epassporte.

enter password...change password..change email apply for new cards and transfer money to another epass acount..epass wont notify you of any of this except send an email to the adrees they have on file...no phone call ..no faxs no securty questions.....somone gets into your account..not only are you fucked...epass wont cover a dime.

Epassporte issues are almost entirely related to how their customer service works (or doesn't work). I would say that 90% plus of the complaints I see on here are people who are using it for what it isn't: A bank, a long term money storage facility, or a way to circumvent certain income reporting requirements that might come with checks or wires.

Typical Epass card has a transaction limit of about $500. There are people on here bitching about losing $5000 plus when someone hacks into their accounts. These are people who are being very unrealistic about how they are using the Epass system, this is certainly near the edge of the limits of the system overall.

If you have more than the withdrawl limit in your account and you aren't intending to pay someone with it, you probably should withdraw it when you have time. It isn't a bank account, you shouldn't be holding money in there long term. Maybe 2 times your limit?

Customer service at Epass is borderline poor, and certainly doesn't run at internet speed. But people with unrealistic expectations will always be disappointed, no matter how good things get.

I didn't read the other threadsa before starting this.

All I know is my own experience.

Having said that, I know the limitations of epassporte security systems (= one password, not much different from paypal), so I change my password regularly and also never use the same password as I use for other sites.

I think what Alex said is that ePassporte is a payment processing service, not
a bank. Therefore the appropriate use of epassporte is for receiving payments,
not for the long term storage of large amounts of money.
