Hidden tricks on your tube site.

Tubecgi is a tool and some will maximize it by finding all the hidden tricks.
Even though I wrote tubecgi someone will figure out a way to use it that never even crossed my mind.

Here's one I just figured out myself.

I wanted to have a clean non-traffic-trading tube site on the domain root(index.shtml) but have a traffic trading tube site on my main.shtml

But how could I do that?

By using a "custom cell".

I only needed to edit my main.shtml to tell the script which custom cell to use.I decided to use custom cell four ("customfour")

So I copied the "page cell" template into custom four cell and changed this:

<a href=/maintv.shtml?<!--VVIDEONAME--> target=_top>

to this :

<a href=/cgi-bin/tradescript.cgi?linkname=<!--VVIDEONAME-->&URL=/maintv.shtml?<!--VVIDEONAME--> target=_top>

Then edited my main.shtml to change this code :

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/vlist.cgi?action=page&cat=home&start=0&rows=2&cell =customfour" -->

to this :

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/vlist.cgi?action=page&cat=home&start=0&rows=2&cell =customfour" -->

And that was it.

So now I trade traffic on my main.shtml page but not on any other pages.

But I don't have to stop here.

I can copy my channel.shtml to say tradechannel.shtml and use the same custom cell as on main.shtml

Also change my navagation links at the top in main.shtml and tradechannel.shtml to point to these pages.

And now I trade on the main.shtml and all categories that were linked from main.shtml.

But I can also copy the maintv cell to custom five cell and add the trade script
like this

<a href=/cgi-bin/tradescript.cgi?linkname=<!--VVIDEONAME-->&URL=/trademaintv.shtml?<!--VVIDEONAME--> target=_top>

Then copy maintv.shtml to trademaintv.shtml and edit to change to this

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/vlist.cgi?cell=customfive" -->

Go back to edit my custom cell four to point to trademaintv.shtml (instead of maintv.shtml)

Now I trade off the video page too.

I can use custom cell six to do the same for the categories.shtml

Now I have two separate sites showing the same content all updated by one script
but one is totaly clean at the root for my bookmarked traffic and the other is
a cj site trading traffic.
