My Car Got Towed!!!

Ok, here's the story...

I live in an apartment complex that charges you extra if you want a parking spot (covered and lighted). There are other places to park on a first-come, first-serve basis. After about 8pm they are all taken. The closest place to park after that is a day care center. Everything else is too fucking far.

So last week the day care decided to start towing people who park there in the middle of the night. Okay, so I parked there, I got towed, my own damn fault, no excuses here. Cost me over 200.00 to get it back, but that's another gripe altogether.

Next day (you betcha) I rent a space. Last night I get home around 11pm and someone has parked in my space. I figure, no problem, I'll call and have this guy towed out.

When I call the damn towing company they say only three people are authorized to call and have someone towed, and they work in the manager's office during the day. So there's nothing I can do.

Am I gonna park in the day care again and get towed twice in three days??? Hell no. I parked my ass right in front of the other car with a note on his winshield so he has to come up and look in my face and tell me he was freeloading my space.

He was pretty embarassed. It was sweet.

that's sweet... i used to live in a place w/ parking like that... if people would park in my spot, i'd block them in until i left again.

Nice :-)

You should tell him that because of his freeloading for the past whatever days you got towed and make him pay the $200.00 :-)

Good for you Ratboy. Fuck his punkass! Let him get towed. That stupid Motherfucker! And You know what I would do. I would go the same place that towed your car and say "Look motherfucker there are other people parking in the same spot, where's their ticket huh?" Reimburse your $200.00. Shit you pay rent. They need to have more parking spaces open if there's crowding.

Nah, I just took over the space and I prolly would have done the same thing if I knew what spaces weren't rented out.

By the way, i'm curious, how did you park your car in front of his and not block either the road or the adjacent cars? I have a similiar situation where I live now, even though the parking lot is never full...

The road is pretty wide. Just enough for the other cars to scoot around.

heh. i got towed this weekend, but for a different reason. some punks broke in to my car and broke my ignition trying to get it running. fuckers. initial insurance estimate, $1050 in damage (bent the door to get in to it, instead of doing the sane thing, busting the window. i mean, who's not going to stop someone with a door bent out 3 inches?)

the best part is that one of the mentally challenged left full handprints on the window.

Did you file a report? My car window got busted into a few months ago. They took three cartons of cigarettes (FUCK!!!) and my Donna Karen leather jacket (FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!). The cops wouldn't even show up to the scene. Fucking Snohomish County!!!

yeah. king county came out pretty quick, i was surprised. i really expected them to ignore the complaint. now i doubt they'll actually catch the guy, but if they do, he'll be facing a nice $650 lawsuit from me. (deductable + CDs). i should probably sue for more because he stole a checkbook and some receipts, but i shouldn't have had those in there anyways.

Exactly what I would have done... Screw the possibility of getting keyed, I've got good insurance.

Save $1000 or so and install a motion camera in your car where the indoor ceiling light is. Have it transmit data to your PC.

I want one of these -- if they existed.

nothing works better than a windsheild covered in pancake syurp with newspapers laid on the syurp. Bonus points if it is really cold out and the shit freezes, takes hours to get off.

Some asshole did that to a friend of mine one mishcef night in philly, although it sucked for him, I kept that tatic on file for when needed to really vent my anger at someone.

There's so many ways to fuck with someone's car, but most of them are too severe for parking disputes.

Funniest one I have ever personally taken part in is fucking someone's paint job up by putting pieces of bologna on their car. Something in the bologna is BAD for car paint and they ended up with big faded, paint-stripped circles on their car after a couple hours in the Florida sun.

Someone told me that this doesn't work but I've seen it with my own eyes. It's hilarious.

One of my friends had whipped cream put all over his winshield. It wasn't that it didn't come off as much as it made completely foggy when looking through the glass.

If you want to do something to a car that won't damage it yet will annnnnnnoy the h*ll out of someone that steals your parking spot etc, go buy a large fish at the store and tape it to the springs or someplace. Make sure to tape it well.

And give it a week. (subtract 3 days if its warm)

Subtract 5 days if its hot!
