We have:
1.) the bones of Agnes Moorehead, Erma Bombeck, and the Wright Brothers
2.) Rob Lowe's dad (attorney Charles Lowe)
3.) the pop-top can was invented in one of our suburbs
4.) the cash register was invented here
5.) Allison Janney
6.) Dorian Harewood
7.) Martin Sheen
8.) Rob Lowe
9.) Chad Lowe
10) Jonathon Winters (his family founded Winters Bank)
11.) Gary Sandy
12.) Gordon Jump
13.) Paul Laurence Dunbar
14.) Edwin C. Moses
and we think Skyline chili sucks.

Fried scrapple, yummy! Guess you'd have to be a die hard Philadelphian to understand the attraction. lol

Sjayne 09-16-2002 05:48 PM

OMG Scrapple ...damn I haven't had that in about six years. You just can not get it out of our area. It is wonderful stuff! Tastes good with a little of left over maple syrup.

Oh now I want some!

Sjayne 09-16-2002 05:53 PM

Oh, and I thought i read somewhere that Philly cream cheese isn't from Philly. Or was that that it isn't made there anymore. One of them.

Ah, scraple, pretzels and tastykakes...as Philadelphian as the phanatic.

Hooterdog 09-16-2002 07:41 PM

no . . . I mean I'm shocked that Spam is actually meat!

When I was a kid in Philly I would have said - Cheesesteaks, soft pretzels and Tastykakes. You don't know what a Tastykake is? Poor you.

In London..well you can get any type of food so traditional fare isn't that easy to find but pie and mash is as traditional as it gets. That is meat pies with mash potato and this weird parsley sauce (ie green). Tastes better than it sounds but not my first choice.

Dude, I've been to London. Kebab from a van after you go pubbing, Jacket Potatoes, and for breaky, Bangers N Mash! fuckin' awesome! :thumbsup

Sorry, Montreal has the best thing in the world.

Finally, someone that understands the scrapple attraction!! You're right, it is great with syrup too. Damn, it's almost midnight and now I'm thinking about cooking up some scrapple. lol

If you really miss it that bad, ICQ or email me and I'll see about sending some over to you. Seriously. :)

Nothin' personal...but I can't stand Detroit. When I used to play in a rock band & eveytime we hit Detroit it was always the worst. Not just the worst shows, but just dirty as hell & stinky too. On the other hand...I will admit we played in some pretty seedy areas & never got a chance to check out the whole city.

Pornwolf 09-16-2002 09:54 PM

We have;

A couple of buildings
A couple of movie stars
A few bridges
A couple of porn companies
A couple of sports stars
The Soprano's cast
A couple of real Mafia guys
A couple of terrorists(hiding somewhere)
Several freaky women
And a whole bunch of guys that look like this...

Hooterdog 09-16-2002 10:17 PM

Pohahahaand, Oregon, has perhaps the world's largest bookstore, but certainly the biggest and best one in the United States: Powell's Books (http://www.powellsbooks.com).

Pohahahaand has one of the country's most beautiful train stations: (http://www.splintercat.org/UnionStat...PhotoTour.html).

Pohahahaand, renowned for its rain, actually has almost exactly as much precipitation as Chicago. Pohahahaand just has more rainy days.

Pohahahaand has more nudie bars than ANY city in the USA (not just per capita, but of course per capita it's off the scale).

It has me, Aaron Matthews, and a couple other content providers, because girls in Pohahahaand will take their clothes off at the drop of a hat.

It has one of the few public squares for a city its size which actually functions as one. Almost non-stop concerts and rallies in the summer, and more than you might expect even in the winter.

In Pohahahaand, you're less than an hour and a half away from ocean to the west, skiing (year round on Mt. Hood), and the desert to the east. Seattle is about a 3 or 4 hour drive to the north and San Francisco is 9 or 10 hours to the south.

Of course, if you live in Pohahahaand, you don't have much incentive to go anywhere else. It's a great town with a friendly feel to it.

Hooterdog 09-16-2002 11:24 PM

and . . . . . . Tonya Harding:thumbsup

No offense taken... the only good thing about Detroit isn't in Detroit. It's the suburbs like Bloomfield and Birmingham. Fuck Detroit.

Live in Oklahoma City.. we have:
http://www.sonicdrivein.com Home of Sonic - America's Drive-in!
*The modern Shopping Cart was invented here.
*A few blocks over from the Sonic World Headquarters is http://www.oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org/ - The memorial to the OKC bombing. Tim Mcveigh's cohort Terry Nichols is in the County Courthouse a few streets over from Sonic HQ and the memorial.

Weird and Pointless Facts:
*Bore-hole seisometry indicates that the land in Oklahoma moves up and down 25cm throughout the day, corresponding with the tides. Earth tides are generally about one-third the size of ocean tides
*This Ghost sighting happened on my side of town http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...threadid=69584 spooooky
:1orglaugh
*It is against the law to whale hunt in Oklahoma
*Oklahoma has more man-made lakes than any other state, with over one million surface acres of water and 2,000 more miles of shoreline than the Atlantic and Gulf coasts combined.
*The fastest winds ever recorded on the planet was on May 9, 1999 about 3 miles from my house. It was the first ever documented F5 tornado http://www.newsok.com/?w_may3
*Former OU football player and U.S. Rep J.C. Watts was good buddies with my High School coach and used to lift weights with us in the gym.
* I live a few blocks over from Tobey Keith Blvd. I went to the same High School as him. Country singer Kellie Coffey also went to the same school and was in a few of my classes. Too bad I hate country. Garth Brooks Blvd. is about 20 minutes away.. ack!
*Suspected Terrorist Zacharias Moussaoui stayed about 10 minutes from my house when he was checking out the nearby flight school. OKC is also suspected to be a hotbed of terrorist activity. Conspiracy Theory lovers will love this link http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/722374/posts

Oklahoma.. what a fucked up place to live.. Glad I am moving to Ft. Lauderdale in a few weeks..

That's not pizza, it's Chicago Pan Pizza . . . big difference.
It's built upsidedown with the cheese on the bottom, tomatoes on the top, and big chunks of stuff inside. . . and weighs about 20 pounds.
mmmmmmmm
