Such a thing as VPS SEO hosting?

About to get started in a new seo campaign, need to spread out my hosting.. new company I tried (AlphaRed) showed additional IPs for sale but won't give me any, nor the c classes..

I was going to try gotwebhost, anyone recommend them? I'm looking for something around 10 IPs, 5 c classes, 2 per c class, my own DNS.. etc. Not too pleased of the idea of virtual hosting but I won't be burning enough resources for dedicated, plus, I need to install some scripts.

So VPS SEO.. anyone? ICQ.. 103935

I used to have 4 servers with gotwebhost. I've scaled back a bit, just have 1 server there now but am still extremely pleased. 60 ips, with a 6 per class c spread.

I do my own DNS and everything so its no problem. My server is dedicated, not virtual but i dont think you'll have a problem.

I'm about to do the same with only 25 (webcam) sites but on 5 C class ips
thinking of this host: seohosting.com

never heard of them before so I'll have to do my homework but it looks good to me, if anybody has used them before feel free to share your experiences

Thank you Mr Pheer.

Winterverse . . . we decided to recently discontinue our VPS plan due to lack of interest. People just did not seem to see the benefit I guess. We may bring it back in the future, but for now, it did not make sense.

Our Virtual 10C-A would be what you are looking for.

Unlike others, we do not share IP's, you can have private NS, although we assign a different one to each Class C that we have.

I am in EU right now, and getting ready to pack up for a very long excursion back to the states. It is 2 AM where goodgirl is, so she will be crashing soon, but she will be able to answer any other questions you have in the morning if I am not around.

Just worried about the uptime/mysql issues with virtual hosting. Especially with all the issues I've heard with Webair, Dreamhost, etc..

I can assure you that this is not and never has been an issue. Our downtimes have been pretty much limited to network upgrades. We treat our customers equally, none of this "upgrade to a dedicated to get decent service b.s."

I have 7 virtual hosts and believe it or not Dreamhost is the one that gave me THE LEAST problems in the past year (knocking on wood) and yet again what uptime/mysql issues?

the only thing you should worry about is having regular backups (even though some of the hosts provide them too) and then you're fine. What do you think is the worst that can happen to you?

Have your site down for the weekend? It happened to me, didn't affect my SE placement at all, and it happened only once in so many years and quite a few virtual hosts, had two dedicated for a while, had my share of problems there too, one got hacked, remote connect doesn't work and so on...

I'd rather have my sites on 10 virtuals than one dedicated (talking about sites built for SE with not so much traffic, heavy scripts etc)

virtual hosts like webair and dreamhost give good hosts a bad name

there are tons of virtual hosts out there that will go down maybe for an hour or two a year (downtime is just part of the game), but nothing compares to the downtime webair has, dreamhost is a little better

What boggles me is how many fanboys webair has on this board... can anyone really explain that?

If one of our servers were down for a weekend I would be all over my techs. There had better be a damn good reason.

I will admit, our customers are a lot more tolerant than I am . . . which is probably why they are so tolerant.

there's no need for "ips spread accross xyz c classes". i'm sure all of your domains are registered with totally the same whois info. so, from the point of view of search engines, they are all "yours". period.

I'm currently trying out slhost. You can buy around 19 different class C IPs from them. I think they are still having some special which gives you 50% off if you pay semi-annually. They don't want adult stuff on their shared or reseller accounts though just the VPS plans. There's more host out there that have VPS plans and multiple class C IPs you just have to email and ask about it.

This is one thing you'll rarely hear from a company who does VPS and VirtualHosts; they usually want to get you in and hope that you upgrade. This statement alone is likely worth giving GotWebHost a shot.
