Its ok for Mexicans to come here... to live.. to work... to take care of themselves and their families.
But now they are Americans... they should never forget their culture... but they should not actively practice it in public in the USA. This is the USA---fly our flag... learn our language...learn our cultures. do not send your money out of the country (back home to mexico)--keep the money here in order to build a strong country. If you do not want to conform to that-- you don't deserve to be here and you should just go back home. Please also get legalized (I know its not an easy thing to do)---so that you are in our tax system----and pay for what you use---JUST LIKE US...the ones that were Born and Raised here who would never think about flying a Mexican flag... or any other flag for that matter.... Gold Ole Red White N' Blue for life. Please understand that common culture across a group of people is the glue that holds us together. We need one official language. It needs to be English. That way we can all communicate as easiest as possible. Communication is the keystone to a culture. |
As someone who lived in Reno for over half of my life, I'm a bit dumbfounded.
I have no idea why he opted to take out his aggression on these legal shopkeepers or their country patriotism. I agree that the US flag should have been on top, but what he did was inexcusable. |

No.. I actually do understand. My family is immigrants on both sides. I know the stories. My grandfather actually fought on the German side in WWII before they came over here. They got treated like shit... but they respected the country, they learned the language and they moved forward. They didn't act like the country and the people owed them anything. Being in Arizona, I know all about the day laborers and the cheap labor. We are victims of our own laziness (how do we have 8th grade dropouts and 12th grade whatevers... thinking that they are worth more than they are??? You make your way in this society.. not think that you are owed something.. You want it? Work for it damnit!!! But, we have a great welfare system that is willing to take care of those that say nah... I don't feel like doing all that much). This country is waaaayyyyyy fucked up in many ways.. but isn't it interesting that people still want to come here because it's a hell of a lot better than what they have. |

Regarding this case - if you come to a country for the permanent residency you fucking must consider this country your home. And you must respect the culture and the traditions of this country. Sure, there are such things as cultural differences (sometimes very big differencies), your motherland and family traditions, habits and you will definitely keep up these things which you've been used to since childhood. But you came to a new place and you must make sure that your behavior and way of life do not violate the country laws and do not abuse the local culture and traditions. :2 cents: |
I support this man's actions.

I'm still trying to figure out why an animal doctor is upset about a mexican flag...
|
i agree, he shouldnt have the mexican flag over the american flag its not ok
what i disagree is the way this guy "fix" the problem and his arguments "this is a patriotic action, come on all, see me on television"... come on guys, thats bullshit, thats not patriotic, thats only "give me my 5 five minutes fame", youll se him then on internet holding an american flag, maybe doing money with a site |
As a retired member of the US Military I can tell you this was not about publicity, at least not at first. It was about our flag, our country and respect. We in the Military are instilled with pride for our flag, agreed, maybe a bit too much.
Our flag represents not only we Americans but so much more. It represents the birth of the Nation itself and the sacrafices made by its residents to preserve our way of life. It also means home, safe harbor and freedom. This guy heard about someone flying the flag incorrectly. He went and did something about it. IMO he overreacted and should have talked to the owner and educated him on the proper display of the US flag. As it turns out the owner did claim ignorance which is totally understandable. What bothered me the most was that he left the Mexican flag on the ground. Two wrongs do not make a right. Take the Mexican flag too or at least hand it back to the owner. |

This country is and was a melting pot. Our culture was formed through people practicing their own and incorporating others cultures. America was more or less a blank slate. It's our diversity that makes us strong. |

turn the clock back 4+ years ago, and the Mexican Immigrants were something I thought about, but didn't really bother myself with that whole argument. In fact I love most things Mexican, including the women, and especially the food. However, the arrogance your fellow present and/or former countrymen have shown during this whole amnesty debacle over the last couple of years has now made me an active fighter against them, and I am not the only other American turned by all this. You should thank your civil rights leaders who on par with someone like Bush have taken allies, and turned them into enemies. Fuck racist groups like La Raza, the tide is turning against illegal immigrants something fierce, we will not allow you to take this country back by hook or crook. You guys want it, pick up arms, and come for it, so we can settle this thing again. |
I guess it won't matter soon since we now have The North American Union.

I don't see the problem with Mexicans waving Mexican flags since they are Mexican, you should be glad that the US flag was also flying.
When China and Italy flags fly across Chinatown and Little Italy, we don't have such debates. The US government is really a big shit, and US media its iillegitimate bastard son. http://watch.windsofchange.net/pics/...covUS400_s.jpg You have got the President you deserved, that's for sure. :upsidedow |
