Its ok for Mexicans to come here... to live.. to work... to take care of themselves and their families.
But now they are Americans... they should never forget their culture... but they should not actively practice it in public in the USA.
This is the USA---fly our flag... learn our language...learn our cultures. do not send your money out of the country (back home to mexico)--keep the money here in order to build a strong country.
If you do not want to conform to that-- you don't deserve to be here and you should just go back home.

Please also get legalized (I know its not an easy thing to do)---so that you are in our tax system----and pay for what you use---JUST LIKE US...the ones that were Born and Raised here who would never think about flying a Mexican flag... or any other flag for that matter.... Gold Ole Red White N' Blue for life.

Please understand that common culture across a group of people is the glue that holds us together.
We need one official language. It needs to be English.
That way we can all communicate as easiest as possible.
Communication is the keystone to a culture.

As someone who lived in Reno for over half of my life, I'm a bit dumbfounded.

I have no idea why he opted to take out his aggression on these legal shopkeepers or their country patriotism. I agree that the US flag should have been on top, but what he did was inexcusable.

People act like this is new its not, people find comfort in things that they are used too. In reality we focus on the mexicans because thats what the goverment wants so we dont pay attention to the shitty war or the dollar going down the toilet.also its a myth they suck up all the government services and those who do dont blame them blame the employers that want to pay 2 dollars an hour.

Hey Tony.. how r ya.

No.. I actually do understand. My family is immigrants on both sides. I know the stories. My grandfather actually fought on the German side in WWII before they came over here. They got treated like shit... but they respected the country, they learned the language and they moved forward. They didn't act like the country and the people owed them anything.

Being in Arizona, I know all about the day laborers and the cheap labor. We are victims of our own laziness (how do we have 8th grade dropouts and 12th grade whatevers... thinking that they are worth more than they are??? You make your way in this society.. not think that you are owed something.. You want it? Work for it damnit!!! But, we have a great welfare system that is willing to take care of those that say nah... I don't feel like doing all that much). This country is waaaayyyyyy fucked up in many ways.. but isn't it interesting that people still want to come here because it's a hell of a lot better than what they have.

Sorry? Disrespectful? It may be when the flag is flying in your own country, but consider the rest of the world numbnuts. Your flag would definitely fly below mine in my country

What he said :thumbsup The stupidity of the immigration policy used to be fucking unbelievable.

Regarding this case - if you come to a country for the permanent residency you fucking must consider this country your home. And you must respect the culture and the traditions of this country. Sure, there are such things as cultural differences (sometimes very big differencies), your motherland and family traditions, habits and you will definitely keep up these things which you've been used to since childhood. But you came to a new place and you must make sure that your behavior and way of life do not violate the country laws and do not abuse the local culture and traditions. :2 cents:

in fact... there are beaners inside bush family, many of them are mexicans, some of them has never lived in usa since they got married

Quote:

Extra credit: Bush met his wife, Columba, while teaching English in Leon, Guanajato, Mexico in 1971.

(Columba was born in Leon in 1954.) The two were were married on 23 February 1974, shortly after Bush graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Latin American Affairs.

They have three children: George (known as George P., b. 1976), Noelle (b. 1977) and John (known as Jebby, b. 1983)...

We are talking about this happening in Reno, NV, USA but you have in essence agreed that in this case the US flag should be above the Mexican flag by saying, "Your flag would definitely fly below mine in my country." Besides if properly done they would be flown on separate masts at the same height.

I have nothing against Mexicans coming to the US if they do so legally. By sneaking across the border they have broken the law. Don't steal someone's identity to get a job. Do it right and we can all get along.

You are in the US... become a US citizen, or be a respectful visitor.

I would fully expect if I went to France, or Germany.. If I planted my ass down and flew the US flag and brought all my friends to the country to suck out the welfare services.... that I would get my ass kicked... why is this so hard for others to understand?

I'm still trying to figure out why an animal doctor is upset about a mexican flag...

maltrix 10-05-2007 09:37 AM

i agree, he shouldnt have the mexican flag over the american flag its not ok

what i disagree is the way this guy "fix" the problem and his arguments "this is a patriotic action, come on all, see me on television"...

come on guys, thats bullshit, thats not patriotic, thats only "give me my 5 five minutes fame", youll se him then on internet holding an american flag, maybe doing money with a site

Luscious Media 10-05-2007 10:12 AM

As a retired member of the US Military I can tell you this was not about publicity, at least not at first. It was about our flag, our country and respect. We in the Military are instilled with pride for our flag, agreed, maybe a bit too much.

Our flag represents not only we Americans but so much more. It represents the birth of the Nation itself and the sacrafices made by its residents to preserve our way of life. It also means home, safe harbor and freedom.

This guy heard about someone flying the flag incorrectly. He went and did something about it. IMO he overreacted and should have talked to the owner and educated him on the proper display of the US flag. As it turns out the owner did claim ignorance which is totally understandable.

What bothered me the most was that he left the Mexican flag on the ground. Two wrongs do not make a right. Take the Mexican flag too or at least hand it back to the owner.

California, Arizona, and New Mexico were bought and paid for after the signing of the treaty. That seems to be left out of the time line. Besides there really werent many Mexicans in California and the other states. The lines were drawn by Spain arbitrarily.

I hate that argument, it is so flawed. You can say that about any country on earth. Including where you are standing right now. I suggest you pack you bags and leave if you really believe that arguement.

Like St. Patrick's Day, various feasts and festivals happening all over the country in almost all ethnic communities at various points during the year celebrating their heritage...

This country is and was a melting pot. Our culture was formed through people practicing their own and incorporating others cultures. America was more or less a blank slate. It's our diversity that makes us strong.

I said it in another thread, and I will repeat myself.

turn the clock back 4+ years ago, and the Mexican Immigrants were something I thought about, but didn't really bother myself with that whole argument.

In fact I love most things Mexican, including the women, and especially the food.

However, the arrogance your fellow present and/or former countrymen have shown during this whole amnesty debacle over the last couple of years has now made me an active fighter against them, and I am not the only other American turned by all this.

You should thank your civil rights leaders who on par with someone like Bush have taken allies, and turned them into enemies.

Fuck racist groups like La Raza, the tide is turning against illegal immigrants something fierce, we will not allow you to take this country back by hook or crook. You guys want it, pick up arms, and come for it, so we can settle this thing again.

Well if it was in the US that is not a problem then. However when people write things they need to be more accurate.

There is enough inaccurate writing in the media already these days. Don't assume things.

I'm not sure where you missed the video in the 1st post where they say Reno and it is a veteran talking about it not being done to his country and he takes the US flag with him.

xmas13 10-05-2007 06:21 PM

I don't see the problem with Mexicans waving Mexican flags since they are Mexican, you should be glad that the US flag was also flying.

When China and Italy flags fly across Chinatown and Little Italy, we don't have such debates.

The US government is really a big shit, and US media its iillegitimate bastard son.
