What are some good books to read, or some resources, to shoot decent photos?

you should be at a photography forum not a porn forum for those question. photography isn't important here. -bmb

get books on lighting before anything, learn all lighting first.. tungsten, strobes, natural, temparature, intensity etc... this will give you the most basic understanding, then study photography after.

step one: learn how film works. once you understand how film is shot, captured, exposed, developed, then you can move onto lighting and digital format.

yes I used to take my photography very serious. when I see bad color images and OOF images having the same value as my work it's a bit disconcerting. I do know that the photography has little value in pornography.

always remember this sinclair: no matter how hard you work to improve you product, the very next guy that picks up a camera for $300 a walmart is now your competition. bmb

Point taken. I do however make a huge distinction between my mainstream work where quality drives commerce as opposed to adult where commerce drives the quality. I am sure you recognize this, you are too smart and too talented not to.

I agree but not for 3 years. 3-33 days would be enough if you are smart. if dumb ,then forget about it. do not waste 3 years. and yes practice.

Just start mashing the buttons on your camera until the pics come out looking ok. That's what I do. In fact, following my handy advice, Jayden shot these with probably under 4hrs seat time with a Canon DSLR:

Always do a white balance .. depending on the camera the preset white Balance can be off .. giving you Yellow skin ... Look above for an example .. the only pic without the yellow feture is the first one .. because the model was in the shade which is the usual preset for daylight

Shoot away. The key to photography is understanding lighting and composure. Go and sit at Barnes & Noble and take a look at the photo section.

Have fun...

shooting porn is a fine balance between being a savy business person and a decent creative photographer.. too much photographer, you most likely dont have the business skills to sell any of your work, being too much business savy and you probably end up as a webmaster..
