thanks KB - we're staying away from L.A. - definitely a higher nutjob quotient out there. i can say that none of the girls we are working with are nutjobs - just unpredictable in a 18 and 19 year old way.

I agree they are all nutjobs. Good thing Im friends with some of these girls. Sometimes I feel like a babysitter. Sometimes you find yourself getting involved with their drama which there is plenty of. Drugs, Abusive relationships, & poor money management is very common. I am learning to stay away from the drama I have to tell some models "just dont tell me that shit" Im all about protecting women and when I hear some of the abuse stories from these girls I can't help but advise them some times. I've decided to stay out of their lives because you can't really help them when they don't want it. You will just end up in the drama yourself. I have told certain models to keep their drama at home because I don't want to have to deal with Psycho boyfriends or end up in the middle of their drama. Its best to just let them be nuts and accept it. When they talk about it to you just tell them " I dont want to hear it" that way you dont feel like punching the BF in the face next time you see him. I have turned the other cheek quite a bit. There is nothing you can do just shoot them and let them be fucked up!

Paco is a great man. If it weren't for Prague I probably wouldn't be in the biz. Paco got me started. Mutt made me. The guy I was buying content MaDalton originally told me to come to GFY to get traffic. I quickly realized shooting is where the money is for me. One day I will start my own site though. Im compiling POV scenes right now for it. All Texas girls that yall cant have hahaha!

really nice stories in here.. interesting to hear that for a photog it is more important to be able to talk up a girl in a mall than shoot good content, but i guess thats showbusiness..

well you are in LA - you have 20 different agencies who do the recruiting thing for you. good photography is nice but surfers are really looking for the girls and will forgive some pretty bad photography if they like the girl.

can't do a solo site with an LA girl unless it's a porn girl's official paysite. LA and Prague are for multi model sites.

Hi Mutt, thanks for the welcome. I've been hearing quite a bit about the helpful folks such as yourself on this board through Jay-Rock.

In Texas, we have stellar talent, but as I'm sure you are aware, there is a conservative atmosphere here, especially in Houston. Dallas and Austin are actually worlds apart from Houston, but still a far cry from say LA or Tampa (or Prague). So to find someone in Houston, there's a good chance that person has not been exposed yet she could have that "look" that is sure to be a hit. But there lies the trade-off, finding the right talent in adequate numbers is difficult, but it is raw-undiscovered talent. That's why I mix it up a bit, undiscovered Texas hotties mixed in with accessible Cali and Czech girls and you can't go wrong.

I shot these 2 girls in early 2006, both 18 yo at the time. I don't think they have shot anywhere else prior or since, but I also never thought to get them much exposure during this either. But while we are all on the subject of finding hot, fresh talent, I thought I'd toss these girls out there and see whacha think?

Great read Mutt. Thanks for the insight. I quickly found out in this business that to be successful you have to be good at a lot of things and recruiting is at the top of the list. They sure dont teach that in art school. LOL.
