Reality sites were introduced years ago. They play important role in todays adult business because of the simplicity of their structure. Its easy to update reality style tourpages, and they do not require any knowledge of Photoshop, unlike their predecessors - long ezine style type of pages. That explains why this type of design is the most popular webdesign order.

Being the most popular solution these days often we notice that reality sites are.. all alike. They look like mirrors of each other showcasing the content in the same form and shape on every single site. Its the same as the Youtube-like sites. Only ask yourself how much market do Youtube-like sites get in compare with the original Youtube? Barely 35%. And how many are there? Thousands. Last thing you want is to be able to earn 0.0001% of the market, right? Of corse with total turnover of 95 billion dollars last year adult industry doesn?t look too bad in compare with video sites, but if your goal is to conquer the world you need a different approach.

1. World changes, our industry often shapes the Internet because it is important to adopt new technology to succeed. Reality sites adopt High Definition video, which is slowly taking over the world, thanks to H.264 and WMVHD formats. Considering the HD-mania, we need to show our surfers a large crispy preview pictures in the episodes. In compare with other reality sites this site will stand out showing More. Even if you don?t feature HD content on your site, you can still make your episodes big to showcase the content you have in a better way.

2. Splash page graphics. Reality style sites shouldn?t feature any graphics. A simple banner on top, with a few simple pics put together, logo, short description and episode boxes. It is important to keep them episode boxes as close to the top as possible. Surfer doesn?t care about your designer, surfers needs your content. Be sure to make them huge. You know how it goes, 1 large pic, and a few small ones. So be sure to make the big pic huge. It will grab attention in the instant!

3. Think Wide. More and more wide angle monitors are being sold to consumers, so yes, our surfers want to see a better and wider picture. Big companies already began moving in this direction. There are about 80% of surfers that are opening your site on a monitor with 1024+ resolution. Classical 750px designs won?t work anymore (because of the monitors AND because there are too many of classical 750px sites). So be sure to ask your designer to tweak your reality style sites to another resolution to provide your surfers with pleasurable experience.

These three steps should make your site different from the crowd, add hot content to it and you will be one step ahead of competition. As for examples, take a look at www.purepov.com they are successfully using this technique and I don?t suppose they plan to return to the old style.
