Lets say i wanted to hit a college campus & just take some "for me" photos of hot 19yo ass walking by.

Optimal partly cloudy conditions on an open campus.

What kind of digital camera would you suggest? And what kind of cam corder?

I'd like to keep both at $1500 & under.

And no this isn't a fluff question, i need the answer....thanks vid!

I forgot to mention the distance....Lets say at 25-50 yards. Far enough back not to get campus security swarming me.

So I'm guessing I'll need a lens for 25-75 yards, or would that be multiple lenses?

ok .. so from you r question I'm gathering you need a camera that's compact, easy to operate, good in low light and has a quality image ..

for photo I'd suggest the sony 828 or 717 .. you can get the 717 pretty cheap as they are no longer in production .. the reason I suggest these cameras is due to they're design (it's very ergonomic) the body rotates around the lens barrel .. leting you do up skirts with out having to bend over or get on your knees. they also have sony's patented night vision... lastly they have an awesome auto focus grid that will reduce your out of focus shot ratio... they're might be new cameras out there by sony or other manifactures .. but for the perpuse of this thread, I'm answering the question off the top of my head.

now for video .. Sony and canon have some very affordable HDV Hard drive cameras out .. all under 1000$ for a single ccd HDV camera .. pretty fuckin cheap for an above average image .. very small and compact, I evern think the sony cums with a built in sungun (light) ...
check out
Canon HV10
Panasonic's HDC HD1
sony HDC HC5
Hdr ux7 and ux5
HDR DC7
HDR SR1

that should keep ya bussy for awhile ..
The common denomanator here is compact, single ccd HDV and Low Lux

Oooffff .. the problem with consumer camcorders is that the zooms aren't that great . and don't even bother with the digital zoom ..

as for Photo . for a distance like that you're looking at spending at least 800 - 1300 $ on a lens alone. To couple it up with a D20 or D30 (canon) or D70, D80, D50, D100, D200 (nikon) ... the reason for the high price lens is
a) you need a Lens stabilizer to take a sharp picture from that distance, and in the speed required.
b) 200 - 300 mm lens for the zoom to get a close enough pic that you can see her Panty lines

To shoot outdoors with out any added lighting . I would sugest shooting the shade ... THeat will give you one to two stops difference from non- shaped areas . (blows out the background and would look very contrasty background) .. this is really the best way to go ... in order not to add any lighting .. If you shoot out in the open your loking at getting heavy harsh shadows under the eyes, nose, neck, tits ..etc ...

Ore having the models face completely in darkness (heavy shadow)
your best bet when stuck shooting in an open area is to shoot early in the day or later in the after noon . when the sun is lower (and behind your - the shooter's back)

betamax or betacam .. Beeta max has been "dead" since the mid to early 80
s and was a consumer product (1/2 inch video tape) ..

Betacam came out in mid to late 80's as the New format, slowly replacing 1/4" u matic tape ... quickly floowed by Betacam SP a non Oxicide tape composition. Set as the New Broadcast Standard .. and is only today starting to get replaced by DVcam and HDcam.
Though many Production companies, satelite companies and Broadcast station (news) still use Betacam SP to this day. Most have moved over to DVCPRo (panasonic), DVCAM (sony) or XDCAM (sony) for broadcast television news type agencies ...

>.. Damn I can't believe I remember all that stuff ..LOL

Christina are you back in MTL yet?

lol sorry goo search I couldn't resist LOL

Ok Point and shoot cameras will hardly ever work for yah .. though I know a few Photogs that can work magic with those little buggers ... but if you want to add lighting then a D-slr is the only way to go .. today D-slr's are pretty inexpensive, you can get a D100 (nikon) and D70 for under 1000 $ with a decent lens ... Same goes if you want to go the Canon way, A 300D (rebel) or 10D off ebay or craigs list will also run yah under 1000$ .. I found a Fuji S2 (10 mp) for 300$ CND on saturday ... Thinking of picking it up to replace my back up S1.

On too lighting .. if your mostly gonna shoot in hotels and small bedrooms . you won't need more then say 100 - 300 watts total to get a nice pic out.
so A small 3 strobe 100 -150 wps kit will do the job. though the refresh rate will be way slower then a 250 W strobe, you'll still get the final result you wanted. It'll just take a little more time to refresh the strobe, which is fine, because you are an amature photog and can use that time to re frame your pic ... Good luck to you ...

a small kit like this one will do the trick for tight spaces (such as Hotels, bedrooms, kitchen ..etc) and will run approx 300 - 500$ for the whole kit. Construction is cheap, usually plasitic, so don't leave the lights on too long and be gentile with the gear ..
