what pisses me off about photographers..

is when they say "DONT use the girls real name.. at all costs.."

and then they upload /pics/03012007/GIRLSREALNAME/stockings1/HERREALNAME001.jpg
....

and then after they get watermarked and go live, and a mailer is nearly sent out.. OH MY GOD I TOLD YOU NOT TO USE HER REAL NAME , NOW SHE IS TAKING US TO COURT!

for fucks sake. i cant remember how many times this has happened.. you know, i rename girls now anyway and even get in trouble for that "SHE WANTS TO BE CALLED EVE, WHY DID YOU CHANGE HER NAME TO VANNABANG??"

Once I know a girl's stage name, she is more that to me than her real name. I have never used a real name to denote files or anything else.

The tough one to me is working with an amateur and you have given them a stage name. I have made the mistake of calling them their real name on video.... CUT!!!! Take 2

If they were so adamant about not using the girls name... its their place to start the show and not name the files as said girl...

you probably should have noticed after they gave you said conditions... but... the blame is more on their side... being the professional that I assume OWNS the content and right to it and directs how it should be used.

Hey i agree with you 100% and all i do is shoot models almost daily. But sometime mistakes happen. With all the title 18. 2257 rules that seem to change on a weekly basis its hard for anyone not to fuck up once in a while. Our model release forms have a dedicated section that deals with names real and stage name which helps stop fuck ups, but no ones perfect. I would love it if all models turned up on time with two forms of Government ID, but they dont always and then when they say they will send in via e-mail or USPS they actually do it without a dozen reminder e-mails or phone calls

ie: siteurl-com_000486.jpg, siteurl_000487.jpg, etc. etc...

I use a 2257 db renaming scheme.

(modelname)(dateshot)(setnumber)(sitenumber)(pictu renumber)(filetype)

So it could look like this: jen_smith_100107_02_0014_021.jpg

This would let me know her stage name is jen smith, we shot her this set on october 1st 2007, it is from her second set, belongs on site number 14, and is the 21st picture in the series.

From there I can break down the shoots by the names which would also show all aliases, by dates shot, which site shot what, you name it plus a lot of other combinations.
