George Bush is the only problem with America today

Just face it, the guy is an idiot. He is the source of all the problem the U.S has had in the last 7 years. The guy never got more than a C+ in any of his College classes. He has run several business into the ground before he was president and the only reason he has a successful business now is because he has presidential power. His father left office with the lowest approval rating of any former president except for himself. Maybe it's not his fault. Maybe it's the American peoples fault for being stupid enough to elect him.

Things are looking up though because we have some great candidates to pick from this time around. We haven't had anything to choose from for the past 20 years. Now we have Hillary, Obama and Rudy. I think it's going to be great new decade |

The Congress and the Senate can have no power with a president that thinks he is always right and vetoes everything that hits his desk. It's hard to impeach a guy when you don't have any moral dirt on him. Unless you catch him stealing or having sex in the whitehouse.

Obama has a good chance. He doesn't have reverend in front of his name and he reminds me of a young Kennedy. He'll probably end up running on the Hillary ticket as vice president though.

Congress has no power over a President that vetoes everything??? Yes they do. They can over-ride vetos with the appropriate number of votes. Damn near impossible with a Congress that is at a standstill because of bi-partisan politics. So with that in mind.. Bush has more power because he knows Congress won't ever agree and overrule him. The checks and balances in our system work great.. when they are worked properly.... and they are terrible, when they get abused properly. Bush has been no worse than Congress and the Judiciary have allowed him to be. Oh.. and BTW.. although I am not thrilled at how well things have gone under his administration... life is cyclical.... he got a shitty time to be president. Clinton just happened to be in charge during a great upswing (which happend to follow GB I in a recession).. shit happens sometimes.. if you are at the desk when it happens.. they blame it on you.. but realistically.. you had nothing to do with it. Hillary scares the fuck out of me... seriously. Obama has almost no political experience. You want him to run the US on a few years of track record? If I had to vote Dem.. he would be my choice though. Rudy is OK.... no major issues there Romney is about the same to me as Rudy NO NO NO to McCain Edwards... NO>. just like last round Thompson??? don't know enough about him yet... will get a lot of popular vote, just like Regan did (boy being an actor sure helps with name recognition). Gingrich.... don't even enter the race.. stay out Anyone else???? did we miss anyone important???

Congress doesn't have a majority so the Demos can't get anything done. Their are more Democrats in congress than republicans but they still don't have enough for a majority vote.

She is scary. Can you imagine us having to go back to a time when our economy kicked ass, everyone made a shitload of money, the world liked us, and we didn't have to worry about the Justice Department breathing down our necks. Please no Clinton! Too scary!

What he is trying to say, and sad to confirm this, is that in this country, right here, right now in this day and age, it will be hard for a woman or a black man to get elected. Currently black people are still a minority, and even then you are not going to get all voting black people to vote for a black man just because he's black, just like you won't get all voting women to vote for a woman, just because of her gender. If you think of this logically, women represent 1/2 the population right? Now you take 1/2 of the voting population being women, a certain percentage of those will be conservatives. In most conservative households I've had the "pleasure' of experiencing (and I grew up in a very right wing religious environment) the women vote the way their husband does. In fact the women think men should be in power. So you lose those votes right away. I believe we stand a chance of seeing a Mexican president before a woman or black president, just because their population numbers will continue to increase, making them an eventual majority. Now once again when you look at the black population, once again they are a minority, and I will leave you with is a quote from this elderly black man when we were discussing the Clarence Thomas / Anita Hill controversy way back then. "Black people are like crabs in a barrel." He then asked me if I had ever seen crabs in a barrel, and I said no. "There is no lid on a barrel full of crabs. As soon as one starts climbing up the side and gets near the top, another one comes up from behind it, grabs it's legs and pulls it down trying to get ahead of it." |

To those that think Hillary won't get elected because she is a woman I think you are wrong. I think women will vote for her. I think they will do so simply because she is a woman and a woman that can do the job. Actually about %53 of the voting population are women. Add to that the fact that you get Clinton in the deal I think it's a home run.

You have not spent much time in the Bible Belt huh? And if you have, then you're sorry to say...clueless. I have already outlined this in my post above. Sure 53% of the voting population are women. But there is a % of those women due to their beliefs whether it's political or religious will vote along the same lines as their husbands...you will not get too many southern Baptist church going white women voting for Hillary Clinton. The same will be for those who attend other denominations like Church of Christ, Assemblies of God etc. |

Everyone knows that Slick Willy loves porn. When Clinton was in office we didn't have 2257. That was created by the Bush administration. I don't think Hillary will be all that bad compared to what we have now

I didn't say *I* would not vote for a black man, I said our country would not. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. I would vote for Obama before Hillary Clinton, let me make that perfectly clear. She is my least favorite of all the candidates.

Na Mike - Bush is an irrelevance to the US - and anyone else, and he sure is not the only problem - debt and a financial swamp is the core problem.

But.. sure, Bush helped fuck the country financially in the same way he fucked the State of Texas economically along with his other bust businesses - well qualified guy, eh? Don't matter who ends up in office the next time - unless they have one clue of a fiscal policy, the US is heading down the shit pan big time and causing severe damage/problems to many people. I'd be more concerned about that than whatever asshole ends up in the Whitehouse - seriously doubt any of them have an ability to manage the economy. |

And the first success in the business was because his father was president and his friend Major Bath helped him to invest in Bin Laden family's business. All the fucking wars fought by fucking Bush senior and junior were to benefit their businesses in one or another way.

Bush is definitely one of the worst Presidents we've ever had, but there's a naivety to say he's the only problem with America. America before, during, and after Bush will still have major problems that have become so fundamentally deep that it's nearly impossible to fix.

Our middle east policy has been a complete failure since around 1948. The problems in the middle east will continue long after Bush leaves office. People forget that during the Clinton administration we had people "hating" us...that's why the embassy bombings in Africa happened, that's why the U.S.S. Cole happened. That's just once slice of the problems we have to face and deal with in the future, but other issues that have been around long before Bush stepped into office. Let's face it from the 1970's on we should have been actively developing technologies and alternatives so we wouldn't have to be dependent on foreign oil. Every President has dropped the ball on that one. The education system has been in shambles for years, universal healthcare, there's really no feasible proposal that's been presented, and countless other issues like outsourcing American industry, weak borders, social security funding, etc, etc, etc, all these things started a long time ago and no one has solutions for them. If I were to say what the main problem with America is...I'd have to say that our political system is broken and needs fixing. Congress, they should put term limits on immediately...95% of our politicians are bought by special interest groups. The Presidential elections or any elections for that matter, needs serious campaign finance reforms. Most of all people need to go out and vote. There should have never been a close election Bush vs. Anyone with a pulse...he should have lost in a landslide both times, but too many people are disinterested in their responsibilities. You have the right to vote, use it, if you don't fuck off you can't complain. How many people stayed at home thinking, "Bush sucks, no one will elect him, I don't need to go out and vote"...yeah, surprise!!! So, Bush is definitely one of the worst Presidents, but it's too simplistic to say he's the root to all our problems...it's just nonsensical to think our next President is going to make things right...they're not.
