Well that is pretty cool, kinda disturbing

StarkReality 09-30-2007 03:46 PM

I'm not on this list, but I'd be really, really pissed...even phone numbers.

what he said... unbelievable how many weak passwords on there...looks more like AOL users than webmasters.

every minute this thread stays up it's gonna create more headaches for those on the list but being a Sunday no mods around and most of the ppl on the list prob won't know until tomorrow either :Oh crap

I found a similar list a couple years ago on Google from another defunct company which even included the street addresses of thousands of webmasters but why the fuck would anyone post something like that up here for ppl to abuse?

This gets my vote for the most potentially damaging thread on GFY.

st0ned 09-30-2007 04:06 PM

Yeah this should not be here.

minusonebit 09-30-2007 04:15 PM

Found it and saved the evidence.

Holy shit some of you are pretty fucking stupid. With passwords like "password" and adding "123" to the end of your login name to come up with your password, or better yet having your login name as your password as well, you all deserve to suffer a little bit. Having a password of "12345678" is pretty fucking stupid as well.

None the less, I hope the program gets sued and has to pay people some good cash for being so negligent with personal information like this. Fuck, a simple robots.txt entry could have prevented this particular breach, and what fucking idiot shows passwords in plain text through the interface like that? The person that coded this page up is just as stupid as the client who ordered and hosted it.

Unbelievable.

minusonebit 09-30-2007 04:50 PM

Time we make sure this goes public and encourage programs to address these issues. Fucking ridiculous.

Why do the webmasters on that page need to suffer for this case of getting attention?

Can you imagine how many people will abuse this info that you're giving to them.

Right now you are helping people to do massive damage to some people on that list. All in the name of getting some attention?

I suggest removing it asap. Just like this thread.

Seriously man, its totally fucked up to make an article like that. Remove that shit. You have no idea how much damage that can do. People can lose scripts, servers, money anything really if they use the same password as listed on the site for other stuff. Youre helping nobody by writing that article.

HS-Trixxxia 09-30-2007 05:01 PM

minusonebit - first of all, the guy was made aware of the situation and contacted google.

I don't know what GOOD you think you may have done but people will not be too happy if it's yet MORE compromised by your post. Seriously - that's even more fucked up.

Some of those people are NOT aware that their info is compromised.

I agree, i really cant believe he used the url in an article. Is he trying to get attention to his website or what? Its totally fucked up.

Makingcoin 09-30-2007 05:08 PM

Saw this thread earlier today and didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to post an actual link to the cached page. This is the reason I use a password generator which produces passes such as :

6Vy@^JFJ
&!J8NK%3

etc etc...

I feel bad for even bumping this thread. :(

HS-Trixxxia 09-30-2007 05:10 PM

I need someone to confirm that nothing's there - if we all put a link to just the php page - then google will spider it and clean out their cache. Hopefully, it will do it pronto.

Anyone disagree?

siccmade 09-30-2007 05:11 PM

FUCKING MORON for writing that article. Really, you're a fucking moron.

hungry hungry hippy 09-30-2007 05:15 PM

for once i agree with franck. some people are going to catch serious shit for this.

WarChild 09-30-2007 05:16 PM

Saved to my hard drive and now I'm hacking yo' shit.

minusonebit 09-30-2007 05:17 PM

Are you guys kidding me? This thread has been up here all fucking day. The many scammers on this board have already long ago made copies of such information and mailed it around to all of their buddies.

The damage was already done long before my ass even signed on for the day. It was too late to un-ring this bell long before I even saw this thread an hour ago, much less posted about it. This issue needs some light. I posted about it before here, too many fucking programs have shitty security. If we as an industry keep sweeping these breaches and the carelessness that causes them under the rug, nothing will ever be done.

My blog writes on privacy breaches, among other things. I always blog a topic when I have a breaking story that has not been put up a bunch of other places. This would be one of those times.

Man, get a clue, really. Stop acting like you know better and remove that shit. The damage is not already done. YOU are currently doing the most damage. Major damage. Youre a total idiot for posting it. Really, i think anybody reading this thread can confirm this.

Id love to see your face if you find out after a week of vacation i "blogged" all your personal shit and basically would say fuck you the damage was done already anyway. Really, id love to see your reaction then.

And youre even a bigger idiot if you think you arent doing any more damage. How many readers do you have who dont read gfy? Each and every one of them will see it and to them it will be new. Amongst them many potential scammers and thiefs. Good job man, i would be proud.

minusonebit 09-30-2007 05:21 PM

PHP Code:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache"

thats whats needed. Or a robots.txt file.

Stop blaming others dude. Right now you are as wrong as the thread starter and as the person causing this.

I stand corrected:

I should have said:

PHP Code:

<meta name=?googlebotcontent=?noarchive?>

Thats whats needed. Need to put the .php page back online and then put that between the head tags.

TeenCat 09-30-2007 05:28 PM

and the advice is ... always use fake info and stupid pass as 123pass on sites you cant trust ;)

Deej 09-30-2007 05:30 PM

Oh, please. Give me a fucking break. I am not responsible for any of the damage and neither is the OP. The responsibility lies solely with the idiot who wrote the script and the other idiot or collection of idiots who ran his/their company with it/them. I report the news as I see it, when I see it.

Hopefully we'll see some changes come out of these. The people with egg on their face have earned it. I am never one to deny someone what they have earned.

So the tons of people who might lose their shit because of your article deserve it you mean? Youre getting more idiotic with every post trying to defend yourself.

You really have NO FUCKING CLUE what damage you can and will cause your your blog right? No fucking clue whatsoever. People might fucking lose their epass accounts thanks to you. Your article could cause people to lose 1000's of dollars. But you dont care because "the damage is already done".

Fucking imbecile.

Truly amazing how ignorant this guy is.

Once again id love to see his face when this would happen to him.

jscott 09-30-2007 06:02 PM

minusonebit, you are a piece of shit by using other peoples downfall to provide content for you stupid site

there is a fair, good, way to make a privacy breach website, then there are these dirty ways

what are you doing? trying to build a consistent base of scammers to frequent your site?

Dirty F 09-30-2007 06:03 PM

Man right now i can only hope this will happen to him in the future. Its the only way to wake up these type of people. And i hope i can be the one to do it.

I hope some of his private info leaks while hes on vacation and i will post it all over the place.

When he comes back and finds his Epassport or Paypal account empty i will tell him the damage was done already anyway.

PornMogul 09-30-2007 06:21 PM

I just got an email saying I am on this list and sure enough am.

fucker....

not-a-troll 09-30-2007 07:11 PM

yea, i just found this link and my name too.

unhappy to say the least.

im unhappy that my name is on gfy too, i cant wait for that to get spidered as well, gosh. that will just be super, wont it?

ive found a couple friends on the list as well and have let them know too.

i know exactly how my name got on the list, the company was recommended by a friend (he's right there too) but i never ended up using the service. i recently got some spam from this new company, but until right now i had not put company a, and company b together.

totally fucking sucks.

thanks to everyone who has helped ensure that my full name and phone number is tied to adult forever.

really appreciate it.

let me know how i can return the favor.

CyberHustler 09-30-2007 07:22 PM
