Guerilla Traffic never launches blur consoles or software installs on any of their tours. AFF has been exploiting webmaster's traffic leaks for a couple years now. These programs/sites never get traffic from us.

damn circle jerks!

You should put up text links. I know a few places paying over $1 per click for adult keywords. They usually do better then popups anyway

Brujah 09-28-2007 07:01 PM

Yeah, notification beforehand would have probably been best. I like that about MovieRoom.com, you get notified about things he's doing or testing or whatever.

You do know your little test could cost submitters their partnerships right?

I like cheese cake.

Do you think these thieving scammers really care? If they did theu wouldn't have decided to steal your traffic in the first place. What they did is nothing more than blateent theft.:2 cents:

There are better ways to steal.

I really think it was a not well thought out fuck up. They figured we are paying 100% we should be able to get away with a console deal. Not thinking it would piss of webmasters nor even pondering the thought that it could and more than likely did cause people to get blacklisted and/or loose partner accounts (many of which they can not get back). Not all affiliate owners and people running them understand all the rules of assorted promotional aspects.

Now if they wanted to just steal the traffic like many, they would just add a free email collection box along the tour pages like so many do and get away with. Way easier to fuck with peeps that way and even draw less flak because it is not painfully obvious and in peoples faces where everyone including affiliates could see.

I don't see a problem with it during the 100% revshare run. Hell I'll take the pop-up and 100% revshare over 60% revshare and no pop-up. that 40% whould more than cover the leak.

I say keep the pop-up and just offer a no-pop up tour back at 50% or 60% revshare.

I think that's a valid way to handle it... if you're going to keep it.

It might have been better to shoot an email out to affiliates about the pop-up? Personally I don't push Adri but Melissa is selling like hotcakes for me lately ;).

I find it pretty amazing you haven't for seen that people would and could lost their partner accounts over your "small test" :2 cents:

As pretty much an outsider, but I am an aff for the MelissaMonday, I wouldn't mind it all if there was a no console option - that wouldn't require me to change links. I was pretty heated when I checked the site and saw popups earlier this week. Especially to AFF. I'd really like to know are we going to be getting credit for the pop-ups. I don't think it's really fair that the aff's weren't given any notice. We shouldn't be finding out about a popup by having to look at the tour. Luckily, none of my partner accounts were affected because most of the MMW galleries I have are older (I do mostly blogs now). But what if I had lost a partner account - one of the ones that are priceless literally - would you have reimbursed me for all the sales I'd lose over the next year or years because of not having that partner account?

Anyways, that being said I've promoted Melissa for the past few years - but I'm no long comfortable with doing so at this point. I won't be taking links, and there's a chance I might start promoting again but at this time - I'm not going to be actively put up links, etc. And I'm going to say I'm kind disappointed because I was really worried when the program went to NATS, but the links converted perfectly (for me at least). I've seen only a few programs handle that correctly.

I may not be the largest aff but I have been sending sales for years now.
