Yea I've seen the "Educational" sites. How far can the site go before it is considered facilitating the illegal activity? Like if an "educational" site not only gives instruction, but gives links to places to get materials for the illegal activities and has an active discussion forum where people reminisce on their exploits. What's the limit?

... the same applies to these type sites. Sure, some of these guys that run the forums are prob rich but they can't compete with billion dolllar cable co's and/or co's like Microsoft, Sony etc. It's just a matter of time before most of these sites are shut down

Why won't they lose any business? If the rest of us that do have some ethics refuse to deal with any sponsors or people that deal with those sponsors that are directly funding the torrent and theft-forums it would make a difference.
You are probably correct on points 1 and 2, but giving up completely can't be the answer. Exposing those that deal and fund the theft and then boycotting them is the right thing to do.
Ignoring them completely just doesn't seem right.

I understand what you are saying, but we should have a responsibility amongst ourselves in this industry to not deal with anyone that deals with the owners of these companies. They may not go away, but we should still not deal with them, so keeping the industry aware of the people involved in the theft industries should be a continuing effort.

they are hosted in the u.s.a., and the admin himself posts stolen content and links, how are these guys still in operation?
there are rapidshare links from major sponsors that are nearly a year old and still working fine, is it difficult to get rapidshare to pull stolen content? This board is one of the biggest and getting well indexed, so it should be a priority for daily monitoring I would think, unless rapidshare isn't cooperating?
