New Paysite Tip - Squeeze Every Ounce of Profit

Hey it's that time of month again... here's the beginning of the article and the rest is available for free of course at:
http://www.guaranteeddesigns.com/blog/

Going by the mantra, ?Every little thing adds up!? I have a few little tricks to consider that will help bring your margins up pretty nicely especially when all combined. I don?t think any of these are some big great secret but plenty of people aren?t doing a good percentage of them and they are missing out on some healthy extra profit if they are not.

* Mail your old members with special offers. Many customers who joined your site(s) and quit just whacked out all the content they could see and went looking for something else. They are already proven to like your content though and reminding them you are still out there and even offering them a discounted monthly price if they come back will yield pretty good results. Two or three times a year it?s a great idea to email all your ex-members with a special offer.

What are the laws on emailing past members? Wouldn't I have had to have a disclaimer up when they first signed up explaining that they agree to get my spam?

If it's illegal to email your previous customers with a discounted offer, that's fucked. I quit.

Well I know we all have signed up and bought things on line before and have seen those disclaimers where you check the box that says something to the effect that it's ok for them to email you other offers and stuff.

Well it is your information that they gave to you. Typically those little agreements are alerting you of all privacy policies and that they will not sell your email to a third party etc. The emails are still your property.
Regardless I have it in my tos, and honestly who ever goes back and reads the tos on the clients end?

Money is money, bu this Is good ethic question.

SPAM or not to SPAM? This is the question .

In the my Terms is, that i may send email to the my customers, so i may do it.

I'm not doing it, but for example if you running good software project the update emails may be very good way how to tell people directly about all new updates. So they will know, that the project is still alive, well updated (and if we need payment on the regular basis, isn't this so more important to tell people, that the project is alive?)...

Interesting. How many years do you think it would be safe to go back? Think 1999 is too far?

I don't consider it spam personally If you're mailing old customers. If you sold your list, and that person mailed your customers to me that would be spam. Just make sure you follow the rules, make sure you have an opt-out link, etc.... and you should be fine. You have all the records showing that they signed up? if so I think you should be covered.

Worst case is you get some bounces or a lot.
Just follow the adult subject rules and have a valid opt out notice and a where they were collected from footer.

Naturally alert your host first.

You can always put an opt box on your join form for receiving mails or not. For what we've done I've not had any problems with complaints at all.

I see it pretty well the same way too. The main thing is not selling off the list and they get slammed with 5 million emails because of you.
