Ordinarily you need 280 joins to get 100 bucks per. Varius is offering 100 bucks no matter how many you send. THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME. My grandma could earn a couple hundred bucks a day - AND SHES FUCKING DEAD.

I shouldn't have written that last night, not here - I was just tired. IWantU is one of my top sponsors and they're incredibly good in every way. Whether they offer 50 bucks or 100 per signup we'll all still benefit hugely from them being around.
The problem, however, with co-brands is not a HUGE problem. I'm not talking about the way they look (and wow some of them look AMAZING); I'm referring to how they work from a surfer's perspective. I can see charge-backs being a problem currently as well as retentions being lower than they need to be.
Join a co-brand, think like a surfer (a niche surfer in the case of the cuckold site), and then you will see the problem.Comment

I have had my cobrand since they were 1st offered. You say to think like a surfer and then say you will get more charge backs and worse retention. On PPS retention is not an issue to you it would be for the program though. As far as charge backs I have had a total of 19 deductions and most were for bad checks. Out of 3527 sales that is 0.0054%.Comment

I wish I hadn't opened my mouth because I have a lot of respect for IWantU and it seems like I'm having a go at their program. I just see flaws in the co-brand. Instead of being mysterious (translated, too lazy to do this before now), I'll let you know what I think are the problems - for anyone who cares enough to read this anyway.
You're a surfer who's into the cuckold niche, for example. That's your niche. The thing that gets your juices flowing. So what do you do? Well, you join a cuckold personals site of course! Now I'm not bashing the posted site, fuck now, I don't want him and his buddies bashing me. I'm just using this as an example.
So our guy joins the cuckold personals site. Only when he finishes joining he winds up on a totally different site, totally different name and appearance, and gets a confirmation email from this totally different site. He's thinking, what the fuck?!!!
Now, I ask you this : Will this surfer respond as efficiently to our goals as we would like? I'm referring to signing up, staying a member for the longest time possible, and not charging back. Will he do those things efficiently from our point of view.
Personally, if I was that guy, I would be feeling these things :
- Distrust
- Confusion
HOWEVER, does it mean the co-brand model must necessarily lead to LESS THAN optimum results (because i'm sure we all make money with co-brands)?
Of course not!
We just need to tweak.
Let the surfer KNOW that it is a co-brand. That is the key. Getting someone to signup to one site and then giving them something else is not gonna be efficient. Its like me going to buy a bmw and getting a merc. They're both nice cars but, what the fuck drugs is the car dealer on?!!!
Solutions:
1. Let surfer know it's a co-brand (there are lots of positive ways to do so that can work in your favor and make you look cool)
2. Continue the co-brand throughout the user-experience of the surfers joining the co-brand.
- If they enter through the cuckold door, let their cookie (or whatever techie thing we can do) allow them to see a different site than iwantu members.
- Let the email be from the cobrand name.
Those are my thoughts. I've never ran a co-brand so I'd be the first to admit being wrong if I am. However what I do have a lot of experience in is looking at dating sites from the POV of the comsumer. Your issue is not with a cobrand but that your traffic is too specialized for the site that has the cobrand. Like sending Peter to see Paul's site when he was looking for Mary.

My issue is with optimum results, efficiency. If you read through my little essay above (most I ever wrote on gfy lol) you will see my point, I'm sure. I run general and specialized sites and manage huge traffic flows. This is not the point. Thanks dude, I appreciate it. I was trying to be helpful but I definitely chose the wrong thread to do it. If indeed it can be done this way I'm very (VERY) interested. The potential for earnings is a little frightening - and I mean for everyone. When you think of old, established sites with traffic that trusts them, upselling and retaining members to their OWN / CO-BRANDED / SPONSORED site is staggering. The more the affiliate can do inside the site (like writing news messages from that trusted person or persona), the better. Signups and retentions would be filthy. Anyway, I'm shutting up! lol Sorry, I just like shooting the shit about this kinda stuff, I forget Im on a forum.
