Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

serious question about IP blacklisting

I just got a new server and have found out that the IP I was assigned has been blacklisted for spamming.

The hosting company tells me that this will be resolved in a few hours.

I have a feeling that may not be so...is this going to be an ongoing problem? should I just go ahead and get a new IP assigned?

Or is it true that removal from the CBL is all it will take for my mail and whatever to return to normal.

Depends on who has it blacklisted. There are all different "programs" or ISP's that might blacklist.

To be honest, there are too many ways you can be blacklisted to guarantee you won't be blacklisted anywhere. All it takes is one person that forgot that they opted in.
