    DVD Line for Distribution, Distributors spam me

    We have a newer dvd line looking for distribution. Switching from our current distributor. Along with this line, we will be starting others. You can check out vol 1 and 2 at : http://www.pureplaymedia.com/pureplay/search.asp

              Be careful whatever you decide.


              Pureplay was one of the bigger mid range distributors (at least a couple years back). Most others that would be willing to pick you up will be much much smaller and you'd be lucky to move 500 pieces @ $4. Worse than not moving pieces, most likely they will NOT pay you and continue to distribute your stuff anyways, domestic and international. Or payment terms going into the 180 day or more range. They hope you go out of business before they have to pay you.


              Not to mention selling your DVD content to every broker online with or without your permission.

                      i see all these web programs doing distribution deals with DVD distributors - i wonder why they bother, the money amounts to peanuts for them. Why not just do the DVD's themselves and put up a store where members can buy or download the DVD's direct from the source?

                              It is a good question about payment issues or if Pure Play simply dropped her for lack or interest or picked up something new.

                              I'm totally with you that an online store on the site is generally the best way to go. Better financially and for peace of mind.
