Dude I could have sworn I did it with Sound Forge. If not you can always use Premiere or Sonic Foundry's Vegas. Or if you really want to do it cheap use Windows Movie Maker that comes with Windows (of course).
And click my sig damnit!

I've never had a problem with virual dub. Make sure it's set to direct stream copy.

Open video .avi file in Adobe Premire then select only audio track of the video. Cut only the block you want > export as audio file such as .wav or mp3

I use Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.5 for all of my video editing needs... you can save the audio file seperately and edit it with an audio proggy like cakewalk or something...

I've done it with both virtualdub and sound forge, but they've been raw AVIs....it might fuck up if it's encoded wierd, or with a certain version of divx.

Sound Forge is easier...
1. Open the file 2. Select only the audio (the waveform on the bottom) 3. Cut or Copy the Waveform 4. File/New 5. Paste 6. Save as a .wav 7. Compress to .mp3 if desired 8. Done |
