google info: on domain shows different domain
I got an expired domain and set up a website on it, google has spidered it, but for some reason when I do an info:www.mydomain.com it still points at a different domain (I presume it was a redirect before it expired)..... when I do a google search on mydomain.com the different domain shows up as the first result, and my site shows up second.
how long will it take google to get with the program and realize that I want them to concentrate on my new website and forget about the old redirect? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

Redirect the old redirect back to your existing site with a 301, and create a new sitemap. Feed the sitemap to Google, and wait a few days to a week. The key is primarily in the sitemap.

thanks for the advice on the sitemap, will do but what do you mean exactly by "redirecting the old redirect"? I presume the old redirect was done before the domain expired and before I bought it, so what can I possibly redirect now?

Nothing you can do exactly. Just wait .. it will take any where from 4 to 12 weeks to get everything OK. One of my domain took 5 months to show proper info: result.
Do not worry, this wont affect you ... your domain will start showing as #1 for yourdomain.com within a week.
