since Keyzer just went on vacation, I decided to ask it here

anyone have upgraded their epassporte account recently?

I am particularly interested in the mandatory verification when you reach about $5000 balance, from what i know your account gets frozen then until you send some documents. Whenever someone tries to send money to a frozen account then, it gets returned :-/

Which documents do you need to send and how long does it take for them to be verified?

also, I assume the upgrade from the "standard account" to "select account" which can be done by adding a second load option, eg. a second credit card, is soemthing completely seperate?

Or perhaps sending the required docs when you reach $5000 balance, will also automatically upgrade your account to "select account"?

I don't use ICQ anymore.

Copy of ID
Copy of front and back of credit card (if you have one attached to your account)
Copy of recent statement for the card or a utility bill with your name and address on it.

Upgrade to Select:
Requires 2 CCs or a CC and US bank account.
Fee $5

my account has a credit card attached which was used to fund this account but that was 2 years ago and that card is not valid anymore

so I should send you the copy of my passport and a copy of an utility bill and that will be enough? I assume I can send it in advance, and it can be faxed?

I don't use ICQ anymore.

Then you need to add another CC.
You can fax it or email it.

haha so theoretically adding a new card will make it also possible to get upgraded to "Select" because you won't know that the old card is not valid anymore, lol

or are you afraid some Epassporte employe will cross the borders pretending to be you, lol

You cant travel in world with copy of id meanwhile you can with passport.
Plus passport is optional document which is completly unnesseary if you not travel outside country.

Without Micheal, it will take you at least two weeks to get verified, because that's how long your emails sit in their queue before anyone even looks at them.

Then, if you relied upon what the website says about a utility bill being sufficient, instead of the info Micheal posted below about another credit card, it will be another two weeks while the second round of documents sits in the unread email queue.

We've asked Micheal repeatedly about the two week queue to even *look* at incoming emails, but he apparently has no comment.
